  1. Smart move by him. He can either leave on his own terms now, or in a year or two when the NCAA violations/sanctions starting coming down and he is forced out.
  2. Another dumb [expletive] ran on the field tonight in Philly.
  3. I vote the 7 spot with Soto 5 and Fontenot 8. I know, or at least like to think he'll snap out of it, but for now, we wont be able to make it with a guy this bad in the 5 spot. My ideal lineups right now with the way guys are performing would be vs RHP Soto C Kosuke RF Lee 1B Soriano LF Byrd CF Ramirez 3B Fontenot 2B Theriot 3B vs LHP Soto C Theriot SS Lee 1B Soriano LF Byrd CF Ramirez 3B Nady RF Baker 2B That would take way too much out of the box thinking for Lou to ever comprehend so it will never happen, but one can dream......
  4. That's what happens when you've got a SS who can't range more than a foot to his right or left, even had he got to that ball, noodle arm would have never been able to throw Jones out. No SS in baseball makes that play if they were positioned where Theriot was on the shift.
  5. He was literally playing behind 2B and had to probably run 8-12 feet to his backhand on a ball not hit all that hard, no SS in MLB makes an out on that play. It was just piss poor luck, and whoever is in charge for pre-game scouting/deciding when to put shifts on should be smacked in the face.
  6. Lincecum has 11K through 5IP Damn shift killed us there
  7. That last one might have cleared the batters eye whenever the day was last week when there were winds of 20-30 mph.
  8. He would have been safe even if he wouldn't have short-hopped that throw. Clearly. I'm just saying. That was an awful effort. Dude's not suited for short. But that's a whole different argument. I don't think all that many, if any at all, major league SS make that play.
  9. He's taken some mighty hard swings all year (see first pitch of his last ab) and hasn't been in visible pain or anything. His approach, from just my own eye test, seems to be off. He's swinging at a lot of bad pitches and isn't making good contact on the pitches he's supposed to make good contact. Even though he has had hit into some hard luck this year, a decent amount of long fly outs and line drive outs.
  10. Lincecum is flat out dealing so far in Florida tonight. 9K through 4IP
  11. I know our rotation has been really good, but how the [expletive] do they lead the league in strikeouts?
  12. This! And during football season any player who tackles a fan should get a bonus. Break any bones and you get an extra year of guaranteed money on your contact.
  13. Vitters with 2BB, :yahoo:
  14. FWIW, if anyone is around a TV, Sportscenter on ESPN is having this schmuck and his dad on pretty soon. IDK if it's just a replay or something new.
  15. There is no way we get any relief pitcher, or any other player, that has any value/talent/worth for just one of Baker, Fontenot, or Tracy. We'd have to at least include a minor leaguer or two that had a decent ceiling.
  16. I don't understand how a team with such good hitting and starting pitching can be sub .500. It is somewhat baffling. The explanation seems to be the [expletive] bullpen and the offense hitting/producing in streaks* and not being consistent. The defense has also been suspect at times. *In the 10 games we have scored 3 or less the record is 1-9 record. The rest (4 or more runs) with a record of 12-4. So roughly 1/3 of our games the offense has been bad the rest it has been ok to great. Also the poor record in the low scoring games can be indicative of the bullpen not being able to hold leads or keep a game tied.
  17. So tuesday will be our what, 70th time this year to get above .500?
  18. For the contract we gave Grabow this offseason we could have signed both Capps and Kelly Johnson.
  19. All these runs we are giving up now will just make the comeback that much more epic!
