  1. It's too bad we couldn't have gotten Oswalt out a inning or two early today and got into the bullpen by the 6/7th. Either way get a W tomorrow and walk away with a winning home stand and back to .500. However bad a team is you can't expect to sweep them, but you can expect a series win so hopefully we can win tomorrow.
  2. Livan Hernandez threw a complete game 4 hit shutout against the Brewers today, LOL.
  3. WTF was Ramirez doing there when he rounded 3B?
  4. Damn it Geo, Free Koyie Hill!!!* *Green Font.
  5. The Cubs could get someone a lot [expletive] better than Heath Bell if they made it known Vitters was available. I used to think Levine was a somewhat decent Cubs reporter/journalist, but this article downgrades him to absolute dog [expletive].
  6. That's crazy, I knew Soto was hitting into some bad luck and making some pretty good contact but I hadn't seen the hard numbers. Wow, hopefully he's due to go on a good hot streak here. It is nice to see however he does have 7 BB in only 19 ab's.
  7. Their bullpen has been pretty bad, Hawkins blew another lead tonight and Hoffman has been iffy. Their rotation is extremely mediocre outside of Gallardo but he has had issues walking guys this year and hasn't been the "ace/stopper" they were depending on him to be. Their offense is good enough to carry them, but it isn't good enough (not many in MLB are) to support a staff that is continually giving up 5+ runs a night. The are a 73-83 win team as they stand right now IMO, so basically .500 depending on a little luck or lack there of.
  8. I remember something like that. I got home from wherever I was, got on my computer and saw it was tied heading to the bottom of the 9th, so I thought I'd go watch the 9th at least. I went, turned the TV on, turned to WGN, and was met by silence and a shot of the bushes just above the wall. I wondered why they were zoomed in on the bushes before Hawk mumbled something about that being the game and cutting away to ARam crossing the plate. Off of Linebrink I think. Or Dotel Linebrink, June 20, 2008. Yeah that was a great game. Lee and Ramirez went back-to-back off Dotel in the 7th to tie it and then Ramirez went walk-off to win it. Oh 2008, you seem oh so long ago.
  9. Good W today, should get a series win. Could be hard to sweep facing Oswalt and Wandy still, but with how bad the Astros have been it's not out of the question.
  10. W Good game all around, Lou still can't manage a [expletive] bullpen, and the Astros are not a good baseball team.
  11. We don't have any off days in the near future either, we are on game 3 in a stretch of 19 straight games. This is a very stupid move IMO. Not to even mention how closers typically perform in non-save situations.
  12. Hopefully it's Gray, would be nice for him to get work in a low(er) stress situation.
  13. This is the second time this week I have seen people talking about Yahoo messing up. Why do you guys use Yahoo over ESPN, MLB, CBSsports, etc.? Are all the sports sites blocked at your work or something?
  14. Good idea putting Tracy out there first, to hopefully get Nady to face the LHP.
  15. WTF was that? Good [expletive] up by Soriano I guess...
  16. When is the last time a Cubs catcher had a triple? koyie had 2 last year according to len and bob Soto had 1 last year and 2 in 08' FWIW.
