    Just kinda eyeballing the immediate schedule here, obviously you never know what's going to happen later in the season, but if the Cubs are going to go on an extended winning streak or something like 15 of 20. This should be the start of the stretch coming off the sweep of the Brewers we have WAS @home for 3, AZ @home for 4, @PIT for 3, @CIN for 3, FLA @home for 3, and PIT @home for 3.

    Our starting rotation is going to need to start throwing with their opposite hand by the second half if they keep throwing 100+ every night. And marmol in a 5 run game?!? WTF

    That's clearly their glaring weakness. Who are some of the FA centers in the upcoming offseason, that would make sense in OKC? I would assume they wouldn't break the bank with a big guy like Bosh, but just a guy to take up space, grab boards, play some D and maybe score 9-12 a game seems like the type of guy that could elevate them from mid/low tier western conference team to a top 3 contender annually with Durant/Westboork/Green/Harden as their core.

    It's already passed, it was either earlier this week or last week. Was that the super 2? I know that you get the extra season of team control as of a few days ago. But, I think the super 2 deadline is still yet to come...... Could be right, I might have confused the two. The Mets announcers were talking about it with Davis, just might be the extra team control season has timeline has passed.

    I like that they went with the best available, but they already have Lynch and Jackson with so many other needs they should have taken someone else.

    Agreed but he is on pace to double his career high in walks. Not likely to keep up but seems a good bet to set a new career high. He's also on pace to more than double his career total in walks. Part of it could maybe be his position in the lineup? He's been batting 8th almost all year and maybe he is just seeing a lot of [expletive] pitches batting in front of the pitcher when there is an open base and an out or two.

    In other news, the Giants have decided to send Matt Cain and Tim Lincecum down to the minors and have them switch to 1B and OF because they have a lack of a middle of the order bats, run producers, HR threats, and RBI guy's. You know since they have a strong rotation and weak spots in the offense.....

    Or they can be upfront with him and tell him that they have no intention of re-signing him or exercising the team option and ask if they can trade him. It wouldn't hurt to ask. It's a player option. But I get where you are coming from if they say if you opt out or stay for your final year the team has no intentions of resigning you so we are going to shop you around.

    This is what I initially thought, but you would think they would have made it clear this was the intention, as far as I know and heard it's a relatively permanent move. They said he will stay until they find an 8th inning guy, but who knows how long that will take this early in the year.

    Moving Z to the pen is almost as stupid as making Ryan Theriot your everyday SS at the ML level, pitching Jeff Samardzija ever, and replacing Geovany Soto with Koyie Hill for defense, but at least this organization has never done any of those. Oh wait...

    Who ever is responsible for this move needs to be fired ASAP!! He's at worst our 3rd best starter. If this is just a move to give us an extra arm in the weekend series with Lilly coming back so Gorzo/Silva can get one more start before a decision is made on which one goes to the pen/rotation then Z will proceed to move back into the rotation I guess I sorta get it. But it's just [expletive] stupid.

    True, but the question is: Is he better than Silva or Gorzellany this year? The sample size is small, but so far, he isn't. Unless you go with a six-man rotation, somebody has to move to the pen. Over the course of the season Zambrano is going to be better than Silva or Gorzo and it's likely he will be significantly better. Zambrano's three "worst" seasons 07, 08, and 09 are all better than Silva's (05, 07) and Gorzo's (07) best seasons.

    What was it? 83 1/2, I believe. I was out there a month ago and that's what it was about a week before the season started.

    Picking the weekly lineups/rotation out of a hat would likely lead to more success than any trade Hendry could pull off this early in the year.
