  1. Wow. Just got home to find out Big Ben and his fro were leaving Motown for my Bulls. This is exactly the move I was hoping the Bulls would make. Me very happy. :D :D :D Thank you Pax! // Can't wait for the Bears/Bulls/Illini to get started and help me forget about the '06 Cubs.
  2. Fear the Royals. 2006 Fecal League Standings (as of 7/1/06) Team W L PCT GB ============= == == ==== === Chicago Cubs 29 51 .363 - Kansas City 27 52 .342 1.5 Pittsburgh 28 54 .341 2.0
  3. No, he works for FOX and will be calling tomorrow's game. Ahh.... I guess that explains it. Wonder why he was there a day early though...
  4. On the way home just now, I passed by Wrigley during the 6th/7th inning of the Cubs/Sox game and who did I see crossing the street? None other than Lou Piniella. Does he have press credentials or something that would explain why he happened to be @ Clark and Addision? I doubt he was interviewing while Dusty is still employed, but I can still hope.... anything and anyone would be better than the current situation.
  5. Cubs payroll > the combined payrolls of KC and Pittsburgh Hendry Woo! Andy Woo! Dusty Woo! Clines Woo! Sarge Woo! Larry Woo! 2006 Fecal League Standings (as of 6/27/06) Team W L PCT GB ============= == == ==== === Chicago Cubs 28 48 .368 - Kansas City 25 50 .333 2.5 Pittsburgh 26 52 .333 3.0
  6. 2 days without Cup games = withdrawal I need my soccer. Can't wait for Friday!
  7. Its been awhile since these standings have been updated, but we all know how close the Cubs are to being #1 in the.... loss column. If it wasn't for Pittsburgh's current 11-game losing streak (stupid Pirates!), the Cubs would already have the worst record in the NL. 2006 Fecal League Standings (as of 6/26/06) Team W L PCT GB ============= == == ==== === Chicago Cubs 28 47 .373 - Pittsburgh 26 51 .338 3.0 Kansas City 24 50 .324 3.5
  8. I have a partial season ticket plan and have yet to attend a single game in my seats..... (though I have been to a couple other games earlier in the year). I've also already paid off all of this year's tickets from selling games on StubHub. This joke of a team is not going to cost me a dime and I'm pretty pleased about that. :D
  9. WindyCity

    This would be a no-brainer for Pax -- I hope its true. The Bulls would have some nice options with the #2 and #7 picks.
  10. Boof will throw a perfect game on 27 pitches.
  11. Foxsports makes the following contribution to their "coverage" of the World Cup: Babes of the World Cup This may not cheer everyone up regarding the terrible play of the US team today, but it can't hurt...... it may also help in deciding which teams to back in round 2. :wink:
  12. WindyCity

    Which probably means they're going to take Roy. :D
  13. Hendry will get smart????...... http://www.martinirepublic.com/wp-content/images/10103798.jpg .... yeah right!
  14. By pantsing them as they circle the bases? ???huh??? No dictionary entry for pantsing. What do you mean? You just need the right dictionary.
  15. Actually, June has already been exhausted -- those runs were on loan from July.
  16. Travis Hafner will hurt this team badly. The only questions that remain are how many HRs? and how far will they fly?
  17. Since ending a 7-game losing streak on May 22nd, the Marlins have gone 15-6 --- the second best record in baseball next to the Mets (16-6). Oh..... and the team that started them on this current hot-streak?.... none other than your Chicago Cubs. Good times.
  18. And then there were 3.... 2006 Fecal League Standings (as of 6/15/06) Team W L PCT GB ============= == == ==== === Chicago Cubs 26 39 .400 - Pittsburgh 26 41 .371 1.0 Kansas City 17 48 .262 9.0 Look for Pittsburgh to make a serious push for their contraction by end of the weekend or at most mid week. Sadly the Cubs may have to settle for pick #2 overall next June as they actually have gained ground on the Royals recently and it will take a lot to "catch" them.
  19. He will still play his final year of football. Gammons mentioned that the deal would be for 500K up front and the rest coming later in the deal and my guess is it would likely be tied to him remaining in the Cubs system (i.e. still playing baseball). Samardzija apparently will sign and report to Boise, then return in August to start practice for his senior year of ND football. The deal gives Samardzija some nice leverage going into the NFL Draft. If he doesn't like which team drafts him or isn't given enough of a signing bonus, he can just ditch football, get the rest of his 7-figure bonus from the Cubs, and focus on pitching.
  20. Sometimes the NBA is like the WWE..... :?
  21. http://www.sweatnspice.com/prodimages/mad_dog_liquid_fire.jpg vs. http://www.parascope.com/nexus/oswaldo/oswald09.jpg
  22. Bill Hall please. I doubt he's a FA after this year though.
  23. Ghana is getting robbed.
  24. I missed the game today. How did Beasley do? I played HS soccer with him, and really wanted to see him play today. In a word: notsogood Then again, I'm having a hard time finding anyone that played with anything resembling talent -- with the possible exception of EJ who at least seemed determined to attempt to put the ball on net.
