  1. I hope he pretends the strike zone is an osprey.
  2. Platoons are for young players like Murton, not veterans like Jones. :lol: :cry:
  3. The Royals, Pirates, and Marlins all won on Friday..... 2006 Fecal League Standings (as of 5/26/06) Team W L PCT GB ============= == == ==== === Chicago Cubs 18 29 .383 - Pittsburgh 15 31 .326 2.5 Florida 15 33 .313 3.5 Kansas City 11 35 .239 6.5
  4. I heard that too -- hilarious stuff from Kaplan!
  5. Yes it is. I just wish Hendry would DFA Neifi immediately after this game.
  6. I'm actually impressed with the creativity used to blow this game -- it takes an amazing and innovative display of SUCK to invent new ways to lose each and every day. Way to go Cubs!
  7. I'm surprised Dusty didn't bring in a right hander to face him. Now that would be funny. We would all go insane - if we're not there yet.
  8. My fault -- I turned the TV on @ work with 2 out and then they almost immediately get a hit. Jacque must be feeling great after that one....
  9. Problem is.... he was hitting in the #6 hole that day !! Neifi hitting in the 6-hole is a problem. :lol:
  10. I can't wait to see this again during Barrett's suspension.... Blanco, Neifi, Bynum.... that will be 1/3 off the lineup that needs to bat after the pitcher.
  11. Nice -- Bynum should provide some good protection for ARam..... ](*,)
  12. I don't think giving the Reds pitching help of any kind is a wise idea.
  13. ....if a team cannot win any games, can that team have rivalries? Or is this forum now the place to discuss the happenings of the Pirates and Marlins?
  14. Despite reports to the contrary, this is the real reason for Frank Robinson's tears.
  15. The fecal league has recently experienced.... shrinkage. 2006 Fecal League Standings (as of 5/25/06) Team W L PCT GB ============= == == ==== === Chicago Cubs 18 28 .391 - Pittsburgh 14 31 .311 3.5 Florida 14 33 .298 4.5 Kansas City 10 35 .222 7.5 As always though - while the league may stink, the Cubs remain at the top of the pile.
  16. I'm sorry -- its so sad, its funny. :lol: :lol: :lol:
  17. Its already easy -- I know people that have arrived right before first pitch and bought tickets for $5.... This will not be a fun summer for scalpers on the northside -- not that I feel bad for them.
  18. There better be a brawl if the Braves go for a 2-point conversion after their 11th TD.
  19. I'm sure they will -- but that tight rope gets harder to walk once the injury excuse isn't available. I figure that, optimistically, we may get a 3-4 weeks before the break with the "full" roster playing together. If during that stretch, there is little improvement in the results, then maybe we will actually see significant changes to both the roster and management.

    Is Ben Wallace a free agent after this year? It was mentioned yesterday on ESPN radio, but I was interested in confirming his contract status.... ...Ben's fro would look great in Chicago. Draft Roy with the first #1 pick and roll the dice with the second #1.
  21. I didn't mean to imply his return would have much impact, but his injury has been mentioned by Hendry as contributing to the team's struggles.... so as soon as everyone gets back, we can watch the team continue to struggle without excuses.
  22. .... its time to really take it up the ying yang as the Cubs get ready for Atlanta, St. Louis, Houston, Cincy, Houston, Detroit, and Cleveland before they take a short break from the above .500 teams in order to get spanked by the Twins. Then we stroll to the break with Milwaukee, the Sox, Houston, and another round of Brewers. By my count, that's 42 games to the break and only 3 against a below .500 team (and the Twins may have a winning record by then too). I'm gonna put the over/under on wins in those 42 games @ 10.5..... and that's me trying to be optimistic about DLee, Prior, Miller, Pagan all returning and being effective. So if (taking the under) the Cubs manage to go 10-32, they would get to the all-star break with a record of 28-60 (and be on pace to finish 52-110)! Anyone think 30+ under .500 by the break gets some attention from the Trib? I want MacPhail's head. Anything less won't be enough. http://grimreaper.org/ont_reaper.jpg
  23. Yes -- can you tell us more about players #1 - #100? :mrgreen:
