  1. This ump may be the worst we've seen all season.
  2. I'm kind of disappointed BLB hasn't complained about Cain's pitch count being somewhat low.
  3. I was going to look up the last time the Cubs, Cardinals and Pirates all lost on the same day, but then I realized the Cubs and Pirates have not lost on the same day a single time in August and Miggy hit a bomb.
  4. Giants fan who doesn't like the umpire is close to the mic
  5. Who was our crappy pitcher who nearly gave up a Bonds bomb that was robbed to dead center? And who robbed it? Edit: Found it. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=260509126
  6. Ha. I just wanted it to be 9/25 because I'm so worried the Giants/Dodgers are going to catch us.
  7. There are 9 6:00 games tonight. The visiting team scored in the top of the first in 8 of them.
  8. I am 100% in the camp of having a designated baserunner in the playoffs/September.
  9. You guys act like I have a track record of being one of the "it only happens to us" guys. I started a thread about how I hate those guys.
  10. Please tell me that's a national cover and not regional.
  11. I really think people are completely misreading my point. I'm enjoying this exponentially, but I'm not going to say we have this in the bag when a very bad week (which is very unlikely) could let the Giants/Dodgers get back to within striking distance. This has nothing to do with the Cubs being the Cubs. This has everything to do with baseball being baseball. Any game amongst good teams is pretty close to a coin flip. If we keep coming up on the short end of the coin flips this week then we are back in a race with these teams. That's it. Nothing more.
  12. Stop this. The Cubs aren't going to lose just because they're the Cubs, just like the Cardinals don't win because they're the Cardinals. The Cubs are playing better than the teams behind them right now. And they have a huge lead. It's ok to accept that. I am not saying that at all. The collapses in our lifetime haven't even involved the Cubs. I'm just saying don't suck this week and we're golden. That's all.
  13. I'll wait for this week to be over before I declare that. http://i.imgur.com/RtUD49p.png Have your memory banks been erased of past epic collapses/comebacks that seem to occur about every 2 or 3 years? I know the odds are slim, but those odds can be very volatile this week if the Dodgers and Giants have a good week and we have a bad week. Which, since they're playing head-to-head it's not that far-fetched that things go south very quickly. That's why just going 2-4 this week is ok. Just don't go 1-5 or 0-6.
  14. I'll wait for this week to be over before I declare that.
  15. I really hope we look back on this week as the week we buried the NL West from Wild Card competition. That said, just don't go 1-5 or 0-6 on the trip and it will probably be ok.
