  1. I don't know what's more funny, the people who really do overreact to negative things happening. Or the people who who get all bent out of shape every time someone says anything negative at all about the team because the team is playing so well. Group 1: The game is not over and sometimes major league players make mistakes in the field. Like, how the Cubs got their two runs in the first. Group 2: The defense has really let down Hendricks tonight who also pitched like garbage for the first inning when the Giants got their first two runs. It's ok to point that out and even voice frustration - even when the team is playing so well. Ok, the people who overreact to the negative things are more funny. But it's kind of close.
  2. Schwarber just needs the infield triple and infield HR for the infield cycle.
  3. Other than Russell's bad decision in the first the defense has looked really good tonight.
  4. Len just said Oklahoma. We should talk more about Oklahoma
  5. didn't seem at all dumpy to me http://www.joplinglobe.com/news/local_news/motorists-cite-clean-modern-appeal-of-new-vinita-service-plaza/article_227e0a97-1fd3-5d85-a34f-ae42844093c7.html Ah, just saw. I must have been there right before they closed the old one and rebuilt it. Didn't realize they had done that
  6. The one thing I miss most about Tulsa are QuikTrips. is that what they were called? it was like this really upscale looking (for what it is) building with escalators and a bunch of food options and pretty nice and clean bathrooms What part of the state was this maybe 30-45 minutes west of the state line on 44? The McDonalds that goes over the Interstate? That place was once nice and is now a dump.
  7. QuikTrip is a gas station chain not to be confused with KwikTrip. Idk if they are in the rest stops in Oklahoma or not. I didn't think they were the last time I drove through a couple of years ago.
  8. Haha. Somebody raised a W flag from a kayak in the cove last night apparently.
  9. This is correct by solving the following system of equations. You're welcome, David: x = Cubs remaining wins y = Giants remaining losses z = Dodgers remaining losses x+y=31 x+z=34 y+z=7 (Dodgers and Giants play each other 7 times, so they will combine for at least 7 losses). x = 29 Or you can just go look at the highest elimination number in the standings at MLB.com while you drink your beer and not have to do any math. But that gives you 31 and I like math and don't like beer.
  10. If that happens I may as well just stop following sports because it will never get any better.
  11. This is correct by solving the following system of equations. You're welcome, David: x = Cubs remaining wins y = Giants remaining losses z = Dodgers remaining losses x+y=31 x+z=34 y+z=7 (Dodgers and Giants play each other 7 times, so they will combine for at least 7 losses). x = 29
  12. I just got off the phone with a customer named Dong. It's a sign.
  13. Oh come on. Ok. Let's say the magic number to clinch the division over both the Cardinals and Pirates is 2 because they play each other during that same time. It's a hypothetical.
  14. So, there is potential for an interesting scenario. Let's say after play on 9/27 or 9/28 the Cubs magic number over both the Giants and Dodgers is 2 and/or 1. Since the Giants and Dodgers have a 4-game set against against each other, at least one of them will lose at least 2 games. So it's mathematically impossible to not win a playoff spot in that scenario. When do you celebrate clinching a playoff spot?
  15. Just a cool +17 game stretch, no big deal Lose tomorrow, then win nine more in a row? We're clearly in the midst of a 27-game winning streak.
  16. 6 wins. 1 loss. 9 wins. 3 losses. 6 wins. So much fun.
  17. As I recall, right before that home run he hit a would-be double that landed just foul. You recall correctly.
  18. Ok. That's a bad baseball play given the situation.
  19. So what do we do when Soler comes back?
  20. Castro is fixed. Russell lost his job. Shouldn't have had that kid.
  21. if it's lance barksdale, he's normally very good. It is and he is. But not tonight.
  22. I've been to both SF and SD. They are both great, but I'm with David. SD is my favorite city and I can't wait to go back.
