  1. Anything that makes divisions larger is pretty much what I want.
  2. that's a shame if only because of the labor day friday dongfest of 2015 and the bryant scoreboard dong/montero GS game We had a big group in the LF bleachers for the Bryant/Montero game for my Dad's 50th. Fantastic game.
  3. Chip Caray told a story about how he was playing a Little League game when he was 12 and was in the same league as Harry's stepson, so Harry was at the game, but he did not even realize Chip was his grandson because he did not know him well enough to recognize him. Supposedly Harry introduced himself and asked Chip what his name was to which the coach interjected, "He's your grandson." By the way, Chip definitely has some grandfather/father issues. That was very apparent from his interviews.
  4. The hop was the best. My pre pitch routine was just like Sammy's, but my stance was like Soriano - even before he was a Cub. I always said if I ever hit a no-doubt HR I would do the hop. Unfortunately, I never hit one where I was confident enough it was gone to do the hop. One of my friends bat flipped once on a ball that ended at least 50 feet short of a HR and was an easy fly out. He never heard the end of it. 10+ years later he still hears it.
  5. You need to call and complain. I only paid $78 for Sunday Ticket this year. They'll negotiate your bill with you.
  6. I know it's like double the cost, but I am a MLBEI guy all the way. If the Cubs (or Royals) aren't on I pretty much surf around other games trying to catch big moments and most of the stud's AB: Trout, Harper, Stanton, etc. It's not easy to flip around on MLB.tv. And I would say streaming is about 95% reliable, but that 5% I don't have the patience for. Also, MLBEI comes with MLB.tv now (including AtBat and all the audio). But I watch a ridiculous amount of baseball even compared to most subscribers. If it weren't for baseball I wouldn't have satellite.
  7. There are more Ontario and Ohio license plates in Georgia than Georgia license plates. At least on the Interstates that lead to Florida.
  8. All the Rams fans saying the fix has been on for 20 years. Of course it couldn't be because they're awful fans. I was middle school age when the Rams were winning and going to Super Bowls and making deep playoff runs. I grew up in the St Louis area and then went to college at Mizzou. With all those people I met along the way my age who grew up with a winning Rams team I know literally one person who I know is crushed by this. LA was getting 2 teams either way. The Rams are the worst fan base in the worst stadium with the least amount of interest. It's good they were one of the cities that lost a team. Also, Jackson County (KC) MO builds their own stadiums. St Louis always tries to get the state to pay for their stadiums. There is no way a ballot initiative would have passed statewide to fund a stadium for the Rams.
  9. I hate the Seahawks and Vikings so much. I'm glad that one of them got their heart ripped out instead of being let down easy.
  10. http://mweb.cbssports.com/mlb/eye-on-baseball/25436059/look-the-cubs-cardinals-videoboard-wars-have-begun What part of their organization hasn't let it be known that they're really pissed/worried about the Cubs since the end of the season?
  11. Is there a scenario where we send Schwarber back to AAA for the majority of 2016 so he can catch every day? If not, it seems like some team out there would way overvalue him at this point and we should seriously consider moving him. I love him, but if he is more valuable to other teams than he is to us (he has to be for a lot of other teams, especially AL) and someone is going to overpay for him...
  12. I've umpires hundreds of competitive travel baseball games from 9-year-olds to 18-year-olds. Bad sports parents suck. My dad was the complete opposite. If I had a bad game he would always point out the good things I did and always told me to enjoy the games no matter what because someday soon I won't get to play them anymore. Wish I had listened to him a little more.
  13. The way we pieced the bullpen together this last year and the total number of guys that were temporarily with the team I'm pretty sure 2 years from now I'll look at the roster and think "he was on that team?" for at least 5 different guys.
  14. On the social anxiety. My roommate's friend in college was from KC. When Greinke was with the Royals this guy saw him at a mall and went up to say hi. Greinke almost immediately asked for his phone number and asked him if he would be his friend. This guy was a huge Royals fan, but the way Greinke asked creeped him out so much he gave him a fake number.
  15. If you follow Sammy on Facebook he just uploaded an album from his birthday bash in Dubai. He's wearing Mideast garb and everything riding into the desert sands in Hummers at night. File this under: Didn't See That One Coming
  16. Well, that is one way to spin it, but tickets were still selling largely under face value on the secondary market. I don't think many people are making money on regular season tickets, especially after StubHub fees are accounted for. I was about $1000 in the red (removing tickets I used). It was really slow the first 2+ months of the season.
  17. I mash the 30 second button 6 times. And then reevaluate from there. When not using the 30 second button it's 2X.
  18. Anybody able to post the list of teams in order?
  19. The Soviets 30 for 30 was incredible.
  20. Cardinals fan. First row. Left side of the pic.
  21. Did Ricketts lose a bet and have to wear Cardinals stuff for a few innings?
  22. Cubs: Javy, Schwarber, Wood postseason HR Packers: Raji TD NFC Championship (sorry), stopping Steelers on 4th down to win SB Mizzou: Opening kickoff vs Oklahoma, Sacking Reesing, Zaire Taylor beating kU Royals: Perez walkoff Wild Card, Gordon HR off Familia, Hosmer scoring in 9th Game 5, Colon driving in winning run Game 5 Glanville 3B, Simon HR and Aramis grand slam and Sosa HR and pretty much everything prior to the 8th inning of game 6 of the NLCS in 2003. Gonzalez HR in NLDS Game 5. Aramis HR in NLDS Game 5.
  23. I put this in Cubs Discussions because I imagine a lot of the answers will be from the Cubs. Before this postseason my single favorite sports play was Wood's HR in Game 7 of the NLCS. I think that has been surpassed by the Baez HR off Lackey and Rondon striking out Piscotty.
