  1. I love when DLee goes the other way. There is nothing more sexy that he can do. Especially when it's a pinch-hit walk-off granny against the Sox on Fox Saturday baseball.
  2. He just does not get down the line fast enough. It scares me when he steals. That being said, everything has to go right to throw just about anybody out if they get a good jump.
  3. I'll go with a gapper that Theriot scores on.
  4. Cool. We're going to have some races now it looks like. NL East, NL Wild Card, AL Central.
  5. By contrast, the Twins fans are going utterly nuts right now in the White Sox game. was just going to say that. gotta love minnesota I've been to 3 twins game this year, they get pretty crazy there. Also, they booed AJ Pierzinski everytime his name was announced :D They actually have a pretty good following that makes the trip to KC when they play the Royals. This game is fun to watch. Pennant race baseball at it's best (except it's the AL...).
  6. After the triple that was a well pitched inning. Although they did swing at pitches out of the zone for Howry.
  7. Wow. This ump is just bad. I'm so glad this game isn't one of those games that I'm haning onto the edge of my seat.
  8. The sad thing is, most teams have to do that.
  9. If they don't walk Delgado then we are trying to lose.
  10. Yeah, but Howry somehow made him chase ball 4.
  11. He actually said that Koyie Hill was tipping the pitches.
  12. I don't get it either. Just silly decision making. I don't like making him throw four wide ones when he was pitching so well to the last few hitters.
  13. Jose, Jose, Jose, Joooose, Jose! Thanks for the groundout Jose!
  14. I love how every ML team has relievers that everybody hates. Every season.
  15. NO WAY! IT WILL GO ON HIS PERMANENT RECORD! Eh, maybe I do take high school a bit too seriously, but still. There's also the makeup work I'd have to do. While in school (2nd grade through HS) I went to school on 1 opening day (Senior Year and ironcially skip day) and that was just b/c it was a game day for our baseball team. Trust me. Skip school to watch the Cubs. HS is pointless.
  16. Aramis is Mr. Clutch. He was clutch in '03. He'll prove last October was a fluke.
  17. One station simply should not have the entire NLDS and ALDS.
  18. In the past, if I remember right, they've had one game starting about 3 on both Fox and ESPN with one night game for the weekday games. This makes it much easier for more people to watch.
  19. Yeah, if I'm the recipient of that email I'm probably going to be more inclined to do the exact opposite of what he suggested doing. I understand that. I wasn't going to change anything anyway. Just venting.
  20. Here's my email to TBS. I doubt it gets read. I have to say that MLB choice of networks to broadcast huge games is just absolutely terrible. From Fox Saturday baseball having all their blackout rights to the terrible announcers fielded by ESPN, Fox, and the very worst TBS. Dick Stockton for baseball? Really? He doesn't even know half of the players or strategies behind the game and acts like every play is the potential game-changer. However, even worse than the horrible choice of announcers (I can always mute the TV) is the pending schedule for the postseason. As of now a potential Cubs/Mets series could be starting at 12:30 or 2:00 for both Games 1 and 2 of the NLDS. Are you kidding me? I understand that all the games need to be broadcast. Shoot, I want to see them all, but this is making a lot of major fans UNABLE to watch their team play postseason baseball, myself included. Quit trying to plug for your ALCS and put some NLDS in primetime. More viewers: Cubs/Mets or Rays/White Sox? Not even close. Here are some easy solutions: 1. Give up as a failure next season and let Fox and ESPN have the LDS back. 2. At least give one of the LDS to Fox. 3. Or, use the wonderful idea that you use in the NBA and play some games on TNT. Even when my team isn't plahing I enjoy October baseball, but I have to say that last October, you made the playoffs the most boring playoffs I have ever seen. It didn't feel like October baseball because your announcer had no clue what was going on. Your station is the worst baseball station ever. Put the Cubs in primetime, My name
  21. I can complain about it because I don't give a rats ass about the nostalgia/old timey happy fun memoryness of day baseball at Wrigley. I care about 75% of the fanbase being able to see the game without having to miss work. I care about me seeing the game without having to miss work. It pisses me off. It's bs that the biggest ratings draw will likely be on at the worst possible time. I don't know how it can be nostalgic when they play over 1/2 their home games in the afternoon. I'm happy they are in the playoffs, home field throughout the NL portion and have a better team than any of the previous playoff appearances. So what if it's an inconvenience for you, if you really want to watch it, you'll find a way. I'm going to give you a pass because of the "Sunny" quote in your sig, but come on. Playoff games shouldn't be on at 12:30pm. And if it were just some small subsection of the fanbase that this was going to affect, and I was part of that, fine, but putting a game on at 12:30 isn't just a crap thing for me and like nearly every other fan who's a typical 9-5 office loser, but it's a dumbass business decision by TBS, because they are guaranteeing the worst possible ratings for their best possible draw. Yeah, it is a bad ratings decision and sure I wish it was on at a more accessible time. The comments just went a little overboard and Ithought a little perspective was in order. If, at the worst, you're stuck with listening to Pat & Ron and following along on the internet, that's far better than listening to any moronic broadcast team we get from TBS or the endless commercials for whatever TV show they are promoting. Don't they know that I will always equate Frank TV with the Cubs getting swept by the DBacks? Which makes me never want to watch Frank TV. Maybe if it wasn't in my face the entire time. My memories of the 2007 postseason: Geo's dinger, Lilly't glove toss, ARam 0-for-12, Dick Stockton is a moron, Frank TV is annoying.
  22. Both Wednesday and Thursday I have pretty much unskippable classes at 2:00. I only have four all week long and these games are most likely going to be going on during two of those. How come they can't put half the games on TNT? It makes me so mad. Just go back to the ESPN/Fox system, or, I say, Fox and FX. That's what I'd like. Fox and FX to just take care of everything.
  23. I would pray that the Cubs/Mets series (if that is what it is) would get moved to another time. That has to be the biggest draw, at least right there with Angels/Red Sox and WAY higher than Dodgers/Phillies or White Sox/Rays. The Rays can't even sell out in a pennant race in the second to last week of the season against the team they're racing!!!
  24. I was looking at this early tonight. It's always intrigued me to see the possibility of a team play their last game on Sunday in one city, a makeup on Monday in another city, then a one-game playoff the next day in another city, and then a playoff game the next day in another city. Now, this cannot happen to the Sox since Sunday, Monday and Tuesday would all be in Chicago against 3 different teams (but hey, that's crazy enough) and then a fourth game in Tampa against the fourth team in four days. Not that I really care, but if this were to happen I think MLB should step in and make the Rays/White Sox or Twins (that's most likely what it will be) series start on Thursday instead of giving the Angels the choice of when to start against the Red Sox.
