  1. Lee has a no-trade clause. He will not waive it. No more Derrek Lee trade ideas please.
  2. Well that settles it. Wells > Greinke  Maybe we could trade Wells for a 3B then?
  3. So is Bob going to become the next Steve Stone when the Cubs melt down at the end the season with 89 wins and miss the playoffs? (They're on pace for 89 and had 89 in 2004).
  4. He's at 88. So one more patient inning and we get to their pen. Not a bad place to be if we can keep the score where it is. I think that with Ramirez gone the Cubs need to get Soriano and Bradley hitting back-to-back. Nah we should be ok still on offense. Soto and Milton are going to start hitting at some point. If not, it doesn't matter who we have playing third anyways. I am more worried about our defense with Rammy gone. I am very worried about the offense, but like you said, even more so worried about the defense.
  5. Memo to Dempster: Let Weeks beat you with two outs and Braun on deck before you walk him. EDIT: Nevermind. I don't know what I'm thinking. This is what happens when you cram for finals all day and then watch the Cubs.
  6. I think that with Ramirez gone the Cubs need to get Soriano and Bradley hitting back-to-back.
  7. Hey look. They had a guy on 3rd with 0 outs and he scored!
  8. This team was not clutch with one of the best clutch hitters in baseball in the lineup. Now we lose him for more than a month. It's not going to be pretty. Guess you busybodies are just too on the go to check some stats. Which stats are you referring too? I just have two innings on Thursday night and the 2nd inning tonight on my mind. I didn't watch the game last night, fortunately. So, in the last 9 innings or so that I have watched, the Cubs have had a man on third, no outs three times and not scored. That's getting old.
  9. I'm tired of a man on third, nobody out and not scoring. It's getting really old.
  10. I really don't think he has done all that much with the progression of the kids they got. I was discussing how they played really well for a good chunk of last season. It's hard to keep that going with a bunch of young players for multiple reasons. Mainly, they don't have many 162-game seasons under their belt and can become streaky because in general they let themselves get too high and too low depending on the current streak they're in.
  11. I think that Pudge Rodriguez absolutely loves playing baseball. The guy is bouncing around and very animated back there even though his team is down 6-2 in the ninth.
  12. I'm delayed so when I posted this Tejada had just doubled. And then Marmol punched the others out in 12 (I think) pitches.
  13. I want the 3 K on 11 total pitches Marmol to please stand up and show yourself sometime soon.
  14. I hope Ted is done. He gave up some long flies. Although he just faced the meat of the order.
  15. Can we move the Pirates to the East so we can have only four teams in the central? Wait, we want to be able to beat up on them for wild card considerations every few years.
  16. IMHO, this is ridiculous. It's early May and Brandon Webb is injured. Not to mention they would have had back-to-back postseason appearances if the Dodgers didn't play unstoppable at the end of last year. Granted the division wasn't that great, but he did a fine job with all those young guys.
  17. It won't be from me. The wife gets home soon and then it's super sexy fun times for Erik! ;) The wife gets home in about 15 minutes for me, but we've already had a ton of super sexy fun time today.
  18. At least one team in each league gets an off day each day. Who wants to go to work every single weekend day for months at a time? It's actually pretty simple. Read Bob Costas book.
  19. Theriot got a little lazy there, but he still got back in. It's a tough call though because the action happened on the opposite side of the umpire, and he was obviously in the correct position.
