I was wondering where he was when they were playing the song. I'm guessing the clubhouse. I wonder if he's still holding out hope that he'll be coming to Chicago later this season.
With our offense it probably won't matter. There are three guys in this lineup that are hitting worth a crap right now, and Lou's inexplicably benching one of them. Its Jake Peavy though. Even vs. the Brewers without Ramirez we put up some runs. I think we can get past Young and whatever other irrelevant pitcher they send out Thursday. If Hoffpauir plays we can score some runs. I wish he could play third.
Harden and Peavy are both on my fantasy team. WHIP, K, and ERA are all dropping. EDIT: I just checked on Jair Jurrjens. He's thrown 7 scoreless for me.
Now and then it does occur to me that the team may in fact be cursed. Usually I just write it off as employing some grade A choke artists. I've long since decided that we aren't cursed, but there's definitely something weird going on. We certainly have more than our share of "Cubbie occurrences". It's not luck. Guys line out all the time. The problem is Lee and Bradley (especially Bradley) not hitting to the situation.
He looked bad there. All three of his swings were on outside pitches. That's fine if he's trying to go the other way like he usually does, but it doesn't seem that way.
That makes too much sense. It's similar to keeping DeRosa instead of getting rid of DeRosa because you can't afford the $5.5 million but cutting nearly that amount in relief pitchers in April.
I just wish that we hadn't let the only two good players beat us (to this point). It's not like you can "hit around" Peavy, but you can pitch around Adrian. Maybe they can make Peavy throw a ton of pitches (I'm talking to you Soriano) and they'll get a solid 3 innings to hit off the bullpen.
He signed for me in STL. He also held a conversation with me while he signed for younger kids. I was 15 at the time. He didn't give off an arrogant feeling at all. I think this was shortly before the knee blowout.
It's gonna be rather uneventful...unless you're a Jake Peavy fan. I want to be in October, a Jake Peavy fan that is. Although this team has bigger issues than replacing Marshall (or an injured starter) with an ace.
how did you miss the florida panthers but get carolina? That's what I was thinking at the time. And then for the Charlotte Bobcats, I got the New Orleans Hornets but not the Bobcats. Go figure.
I have gotten so addicted to this. I have gotten 121/122 a couple of times. I forgot a different team each time: Florida Panthers then Charlotte Bobcats.
I would not be worried about this season if I thought the Cubs had a chance to score some runs. They don't. Dempster not pitching this inning was a no-brainer. Thanks Lou.
