  1. Could Bobby Scales play third instead? Jake Fox? Soriano? Fukudome? Geovany Soto? WAIT! BIG Z!
  2. Um, third base stays put in that situation. Horrible.
  3. Do they have any bad relievers that we'll get to face anytime soon?
  4. Moving the pitcher one spot is crucial when he's 7 hitters away. Coming late to the party here but I don't think anybody has pointed this out, Marshall would have been due up 2nd next inning in what was formerly Fox's spot if not for the double switch. You're right, I forgot about the first double switch. I think the decision was actually between whether to keep Fuku or Sori in the game.
  5. It's really frustrating that they had some good plate appearances against Massett and have nothing to show for it.
  6. To move the pitcher's spot back in the lineup one slot and leave Fukudome in. I guess Lou is choosing Fuku over Soriano for the remainder of the game.
  7. While this is true I think he is just seeking attention, again.
  8. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20090605&content_id=5163534&vkey=recap&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb No you won't Carlos.
  9. Same here. ARam is the man!
  10. Why? There are 102 more players on that list that haven't had their names come out. I'm sure there will be other 'stars' on that list. Sosa, Bonds, and McGwire were the main focus that started it all, so surely their names would be released. Exactly. Especially considering Bonds being on that list could be used as evidence in his legal troubles.
  11. We all know these sluggers have been using their designer steroids for years. Just because a guy didn't test positive means he didn't do steroids?? Burn the witch. I didn't say he didn't use them. I was just pointing out that if he did pass the test in 2003 that there is just one more reason to think he didn't use them. I never said it proved he didn't use them. I was just pointing out that a voter leaving Sosa off because he "used steroids" would have to do so on pure speculation and NO evidence.
  12. I'm not saying Sammy didn't use, but as the years go on I'm more inclined to believe that he didn't. With all the people that have tried so hard to link the sluggers from the steroid era to steroids they have not been able to link Sosa to them. I would think that if Sosa's name was included in the list of 103 (or Bonds or any other major star), that we would have heard that by now. How and why ARod was singled out makes no sense to me except for the fact that he is ARod. Sosa being named wouldn't be as shocking but it would be big because there is NO evidence outside of speculation that he used. If the entire list of 103 does come out and Sosa is not on it, I would have to say that no HOF voter would have a reason to leave him off the ballot. As it is now he should get in.
  13. I haven't looked at the numbers recently, but as of about a week and a half ago every team in the central was at or above .500 against teams not in the central. The Astros and Pirates just had horrible records against the rest of the division (Reds, Cubs, Cardinals, Brewers).
  14. Is this some kind of joke?
  15. Well that looks like a winning lineup...
  16. I wasn't able to watch this game tonight and just looked at the play-by-play log. Boy am I glad I didn't watch this one. How many times did they have runner on second, 0 out, or runner on third, 1 out and not score? That's horrible. There were so many situation where pretty much anything but a strikeout, popout or double play would have worked and they either struck out or gidp. This one is frustrating looking at the recap. I can't imagine actually watching it.
  17. I have a Turk Wendell ball in my collection. Haha. Those three are a strange combination.
  18. Are you so sure of that?
  19. As long as we get an inside the parker out of the deal. He'll get a suspension for bumping the ump for sure. If Bradley's was worth 1 game Z's has to be worth 5 (1 start) He should claim that, as the Cubs top pinch hitter, he should get a lesser suspension than a SP Haha. I like that argument.
  20. Doesn't matter. A player doesn't have a right to stand in the ump's face and argue a call. If contact happens while the player is doing that, that's his own fault. That's not true. Players absolutey have the right to argue. They get away with it with regularity. Umps have been reprimanded for provoking incidents, it could happen again. Even if he didn't have the right to get in his face to argue the call MLB can't suspend Z for making contact when he didn't initiate it. They can do whatever they want though. The next grievance the Players' Union has should be the ridiculous rights the Umpires' Union has.
  21. This is really funny taken out of context. I have DVR and I don't think you can conclusively say he got the left hand in there. I think he most likely did, but it is not 100% certain. I dont have a DVR. Can you recomend a good one? Well, MLB.tv has DVR. That's what I'm using.
