Really glad to see the Cardinals are coasting on that granny. If that's all they get tonight and win I'll be angry.

That's why he through his bat into the rack in the dugout. I know his slumps are very, very annoying and he makes a lot of money, but to imply that he doesn't try is a little ridiculous. I definitely think he tries at the plate, but doesn't look like he tries to change anything with his approach or with his swing I get the idea he doesn't think he has to change anything. Like you said, I don't think it is completely a lack of effort, but more stubbornness. If that is the case, maybe a full season of struggling will change his mindset a little bit. That's pretty much what I meant. He's to stubborn and selfish to change his game..Even in the field runners take the extra base on him because he just non chalantly jogs over there with no sense of urgency and he still does that. He needs to swallow his pride and start changing things around. I agree with this.

UGH, with him in this box it reminds me of the last out last year. Especially after that 0-1 swing.

That's not really a hit-and-run. It was a 3-2 count. With just 1 out. Yeah, but a hit-and-run is when the batter is swinging no matter what. Lee would have taken ball 4. IMO sending a runner on 3-2 less than 2 outs is not a hit-and-run.

It's amazing how much better I would feel if Gregg hadn't blown the game Monday. 3 out of 4 from LA would really help, but with Colorado at Washington and St. Louis at San Diego. Probably will just be treading water. -

I would like to thank the Dodgers for probably being the difference between a Cubs division title and a Cardinals division title.

After the four-game series in LA this weekend, the Cubs have a fairly easy schedule: Home WSH 3 NYM 3 HOU 3 CHW 1 CIN 3 MIL 4 PIT 3 AZ 3 Away NYM 3 PIT 3 STL 3 MIL 3 SF 4 If the Cubs are within 3-4 games of the division and/or wild card when they leave LA, they have a real good shot at having a good month of September based on their schedule. Not to mention, they will have a few games to try to catch up with St. Louis and San Francisco head-to-head, although on the road. I honestly think that if Lilly, Z, Harden and Wells can go the rest of the year without missing starts and ARam stays healthy, this team does have a better shot at a playoff spot than I recently thought.
