  1. They are really good. Speed and power switch-hitting/left-handed bats 1 through 3 with a big bopper hitting fourth from the left side followed by Werth and Ibanez in whichever order you prefer. Pretty good.
  2. Neither are ideal, but at least he has to throw a few more pressure pitches then as opposed to just hacking at whatever crap he throws up there. It really doesn't matter, he's not coming through. There's no pressure for Lee if he can see that Dempster is just waiting for a walk. I agree that the chance of him driving home a run is low, but if there's a 7% chance of him doing just that if he swings, I'll take that over the near zero percent chance that anything positive would happen with the bat sitting on his shoulder. And again, I'm not advocating swinging at just anything. Treat it like a 3-1 count. Look for a fastball middle in and swing hard. If you don't get it, you don't have to swing. I think with the bases loaded a pitcher should have this mentality until he has two strikes and probably in 2-2 and 3-2 counts as well.
  3. I think the Phillies have built the top of their lineup almost exactly how I would try to build one.
  4. At least Lee is at almost 60 pitches after three innings. Maybe we can push him over 100 after 5 and maybe, just maybe, we can push one across.
  5. I sat in the bleachers the night Soriano hit the grand slam. I absolutely hated most of the fans around me. They tried to start the wave and had no knowledge of the game.
  6. Or, back to back to back grand slams!!! :D We need back to back to back grand slams for a 1-run lead.
  7. the lone optimist. You're profoundly stupid. You're the one who thinks this team has a chance. You're remarkably moronic. Civility.
  8. I was hoping the new owners would fire him even if the Cubs won the WS.
  9. Who was it that said the Phils would score 30 in this set?
  10. Yeah, good call. The wife and I were discussing going to Colorado for the 4-game set. Glad we didn't do that.
  11. The 2004 team was in almost certain playoff position with two weeks to go. I'm talking about the expectations being sky high, an automatic division title for sure, and the Cardinals winning the division instead.
  12. Don't be so extreme. Be realistic. Lee will break his wrist and Bradley will get in a fight with a bleacher bum, killing the bum and sending him to prison.
  13. I was thinking the same, but I'll continue to watch with morbid fascination the suckiness of the Cubs offense Actually, I'm still here too. I hate this last week. It's so frustrating.
  14. :clapping: :yahoo: I can now enjoy my evening away from baseball!
  15. Cardinals and Dodgers are said to be the most interested, though both are waiting until he clears I thought he already did clear. No?
  16. Nice to see Samardzija fielding his position...
  17. I like how Len and Bob address issues that other announcers won't address without sounding whiny about it.
  18. I'm getting tired of watching the middle of the order make outs when Pedro is throwing so many balls.
  19. I don't ESPN Insider but I see the headline suggesting this may happen.
  20. I don't think Shark would have gotten that 3-1 pitch called a strike.
  21. Well Homer is hurt before retiring a batter, so the Reds bullpen is going to have to get 27, er, I mean 24 outs tonight.
