  1. That ticks me off. Dumb Dumb Dumb.
  2. Whoa! 7 total points in only 2 minutes!
  3. Really want K-State to win. Could have a potentially amazing bracket but it all hinges on this game right now.
  4. That score is almost unbelievable.
  5. I think I have to at least kind of like someone who is a total [expletive] but gets his players to like him. The one thing you can say about him is that he's not phony which is the case with most high-level college basketball coaches. He has a shady background and he's a total prick. Investigate him but at least he doesn't pretend to be someone else. I like the same things about him. He seems very straight forward and blunt, which is what I think a coach should be.
  6. I like the halftime speech. I know I'm supposed to hate K-State, but I just don't. Frank Martin is awesome.
  7. Xavier is not exactly moving the ball very well the last few possessions. If this continues I will advance my two national championship teams tonight.
  8. Not trying to one up or anything, but Wood had an awesome beginning to his next game as well. Unfortunately, he left with injury IIRC.
  9. Wood almost has the perfect game himself. A bleeder for an infield hit and a curve that got away and hit the guy who holds the record for the most times being hit (although this one he actually didn't lean into). Wood's game was so much more dominating. The hitters knew what was coming and it didn't matter. He made good players look like they were picking up the bat for the first time and taking some hacks in the cage.
  10. What the hell did you have happening to Kansas? I think he said he had MSU beating them. I had A&M in my elite 8 too. I'm down to 5 of those teams, but still both of my title-game participants kicking, which is really what it comes down to. I have Michigan St. in the final four. They're not looking too strong right now. My bracket is pretty good to this point. Unfortunately I went a little crazy with my picks for the next couple of rounds so I probably won't do that well overall. (Michigan State over Tennessee, Kansas State over Syracuse, Baylor over A&M, West Virginia over Kentucky).
  11. I had A&M in the Elite Eight. Don't ask me why. Other than that I still have all my Elite Eight teams.
  12. Ramsey's putbacks and the missed free throws are the difference. Tough loss because they could have pulled it out. I said coming in that I would be happy with a win over Clemson and a close loss to WVU. I'm still happy, but I'm left thinking we should have won the game and then would have had a real shot at the Elite Eight. Oh well. Team looks good for the near future. I thought English looked real hot early on, but Mizzou didn't seem to work the ball around enough to find the open 3 in the second half. Wonder what would have happened if Safford was on the court.
  13. I'm a bigger supporter than most, but you cannot drop your bat like that after the 2nd out. That is the definition of showing up the umpire. Yeah, but for most players the ump most likely would have at least demonstratively told him to pick up the bat and if he didn't do so in quick fashion then he would get tossed.
  14. I am not a Bradley supporter, but this ejection was ridiculous. I umpire junior high and high schoolers and I would not eject for this. Ump would not have done that if it were anybody else. 15. I'm in pretty good shape right now. I had Michigan St. over kU and all of my Final Four teams are looking like they will have a very good shot of being in the Elite Eight.
  16. Isn't that kind of insinuating that he will be on the team this year? You're not a rookie if you're still in the minors. He's currently playing with the big league team and hasn't exhausted his rookie eligibility. Therefore, he's a rookie. He gets sent back down and he's a prospect again. Even is ST? I'm not arguing, I just didn't know that a player is technically a rookie while he's playing with the MLB club in ST.
  17. Isn't that kind of insinuating that he will be on the team this year? You're not a rookie if you're still in the minors.
  18. Does anybody else think that this could all be a ploy of some sort? The idea is obviously not going to be implemented, so why would it ever get released, unless there was some ulterior motive? The discussion definitely points out the need of some sort of fix to the problem that is the AL East. Maybe MLB is building some sort of argument along the lines of, "We don't want to do this crazy idea, but we don't see any other way to fix the problem without the players giving in on other issues." From a selfish perspective I hope this isn't the case. I don't want a strike to occur any time in the near future (When does the current labor agreement end?), and I don't particularly care enough about what happens in the AL East to miss some or all of a MLB season.
  19. Oh, you're the guy that takes a claim and exaggerates it, cool. Oh, you're the guy everybody thinks is Mizzou under a new username. I haven't heard anybody else claim that and it's not true.
  20. That is the reason. Another major reason is where they find the time to play an extra round while still keeping the TV people happy. The fact is that the extra round will take some time, at least 4 days or so added onto the postseason. Although, I would argue that just because it's better than the other leagues (as in a lower percentage makes the playoffs) means that it's the best for MLB to increase it's number of playoff teams. The NBA and NHL is way too much. The NFL is perfect for the NFL (imo), but that doesn't mean that MLB should increase their number of playoff teams.
  21. Oh, you're the guy that takes a claim and exaggerates it, cool.
  22. i don't mean the playoff idea, i mean the competitive imbalance in baseball. clearly you can't think it's fair that the d-rays, orioles and blue jays have to compete for (at most) two playoff spots with the two wealthiest teams in the game. my question was how you would address this issue of fairness and competitive imbalance... "do nothing, it's unfair, too damn bad" is a position you can take. Oh, I never really addressed that. To be honest, I don't really have a good alternative idea. I do think something needs to be done. I would hope they can come up with a system that can keep the playoff format to 8 total teams that didn't have a rotating system but still allow teams to not be dominated because only 2 teams can make the playoffs from one division. Maybe a balanced schedule where the top 4 teams make the playoffs would be the fairest system but it definitely has its flaws as well.
  23. Mizzou with a good start. Not.
