  1. So, trade Arrietta for the best SS prospect not on the Cubs and Baez for an Arrietta comp without the sliders.
  2. Slingbox is wonderful if you have a family member that is outside the market and has MLBEI and a fast upload speed. I know that is not possible for many people, but just an idea.
  3. I've said it before, but nobody is better than Treymon.
  4. Incredible week for me so far. Went to a Garth concert Saturday which I've been wanting to do since the last one I went to when I was four. Got a big bonus. Got a big raise. My company bought iPhone 6 is coming today. Found out that big bonus and big raise may be getting even bigger if I get this position I interviewed for. Oh, and Packers won Monday. **Ducks**
  5. If we're rostering a offensively crappy veteranny veteran to tell fart jokes in the clubhouse, relegating it to the backup catcher is about as harmless as any role. Especially one that's made Lester's inside cutter unhittable to right handers. No need for Gomes. CarGo and Soler are playing 162. Combined?
  6. Yes, please. Would be my top choice, get him out of KC in a better lineup and I think he could hit 25 HR's. Gordon would easily take Baez, Alcantara and Vogey. I would trade Baez, Edwards and Pierce for Upton. I think the Braves are stockpiling arms, plus i think Alcantara turns into a Zobrist type player. Would want to extend Gordon first. He has a 2016 player option.
  7. Somehow slept through 13 texts from my dad and brother starting at 2:30 AM! http://media.tumblr.com/5b61042c0f19ca4e592fab8b9853a8a9/tumblr_inline_n5jhjdSdwA1rh3k1r.gif Removing Cobs from sig!
  8. Maddon & Theo picked up some beer and they are going to party in the RV! Imaging the Cubs front office partying with Maddon at some RV park full of retirees wintering in SD is a funny thought.
  9. Have we ever played 2 Thursdays in a row? I would have missed tonight if I didn't look at this thread today. I'm trying to figure out if a team has ever played three non-Sundays in a row.
  10. Garth? I'm going to Garth Saturday. Going to be fun after celebrating Mizzou winning the SEC Title.
  11. Maybe I am dense and not understanding your point, but teams trading away players can allow the team acquiring the player to discuss extensions before the trade and is usually a prereq to the trade actually occurring. Edit: Yep, can't read.
  12. That's 6-7 tests per 40-man roster spot.
  13. The AFC Wild Card race is going to be a lot of fun this month.
  14. Honestly, Rodgers was about a 6/10 on the Rodgers Meter today and they just beat the best NFL team not named the Packers. A decent defense and a decent run game with great pass protection has me really excited about the remainder of this season.
  15. I could have worked in Trinidad earlier this week for a couple of days, but based on what I knew about driving in the DR the first thing I checked was how dangerous it is in Trinidad. Decided not to go because the highway I would have been on is one of the most dangerous roads in Latin America for both driving and carjacking.
  16. In my perfect scenario the 2015 Cubs barely squeak into the playoffs, have an awesome run and win the World Series. We all have many of those "This is actually happening?!?!?!" moments. Then starting in 2016 we win 110 games every year and make the late 90s/early 00s Yankees look mediocre. Which is kind of like how it was for me with the Packers, except they have not finished in the playoffs very well since their SB title.
  17. Sammy should leave his hair like he had it in his playing days. He looks like he belongs on the Munsters with his hair slicked like that. http://supernatural-television.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/The_Munsters_Butch_Patrick_1965-225x300.jpg
  18. It would be so awesome to always be in win-now mode. Someday...
  19. So, if he can get $31/32 million per from somebody else 6 years from now (who knows what salaries will be at then), and he does opt out after 6 years, this is a huge steal for the Marlins.
  20. I'm really interested in what the Cubs would do if they end up owning a bunch of the rooftops. I would prefer an option that removes the bleachers from the rooftops.
  21. Better defenses in Seattle and Detroit, and then having Drew Brees go off. This team is playing really well right now. As long as the defense remains adequate, I feel pretty confident about this team for the rest of the year. As an Aaron Rodgers owner, I think I speak for all Bear fan Rodgers owners when I say I hope someone slams him on his shoulder after a play is over and he's never right again. Classy Yeah it's exactly the same situation as the incident that many packer fans have told me is their favorite play in history. Those are some crappy Packers fans then.
  22. Not sure about Jenkins but Walden made the AS Team for the Angels in 2011 and has been a solid if unspectacular middle reliever for awhile. Thanks. I posted before looking on B-R. I assumed he was a prospect. Relief pitchers that are not closers have to be the least recognizable players in baseball. He was the Angels' closer, and has closed off and on since. You might remember him as the guy who has both feet off of the ground midway through his delivery. Ah, I do remember that now.
