  1. Cubs getting shutout by a crappy pitcher with the wind blowing out. Who knew?
  2. After watching Lee bat last inning I don't think he had any desire to swing at any pitch. He let two very hittable pitches go by and only swung when forced to after the 2 strike count and he was in obvious pain when he fouled it off.
  3. Andy might be in NY within a year or two. When he's gone, Hendry's biggest supporter is gone. I believe Hendry will have to turn things around by next season or he'll be canned either way. The Cubs are not afraid to fire people. The first one to be fired will most likely be the trainer.
  4. I disagree. God would not have Neifi playing almost everyday and batting 2nd.
  5. Unfortunately for those 3 teams they won't be playing the NL central much longer. :D
  6. There really is no reason that a perfect fundamental team like the Cubs need to practice before games. [/sARCASM]
  7. cubs.com main headline reads: "Marmol gets nod as Cubs host Brewers" so yeah, I guess it is Marmol today.
  8. Mabry No way. Mabry is one player that has been even worse than Murton. I'd say he'll get traded at the deadline if he had any trade value. Since when has that stopped Dusty from playing the veteran?
  9. They don't have to finish around .500. They'll just have to play around .500 ball the rest of the way and Hendry will feel it's justified to bring the idiot and his band of loonies back.
  10. Me too. In 1984 my sister had an aneurysm at 36 years of age. The doctors had to do brain surgery after the swelling got so bad. Two days later she was declared brain dead and we took her off of the respirator and she passed away. Hopefully the medical technology is better today than it was 21 years ago and Mr. Gammons can make a full recovery. I'll say a prayer for you Pete.
  11. Unfortunately with Lee back, Prior coming around, and Barrett coming back from suspension I think if they play .500 ball between now and the all star break Hendry will feel justified in giving him his two year extension. Playing .500 ball might be a monumental task for this team though.
  12. Hi Len. "brutal stretch" is putting it mildly.
  13. bynum to the DL must be the 25-man move to bring lee back. It is. Confirmed on the telecast today. At least Murton is staying in the majors. Whether he stays in the starting lineup remains to be seen; there's talk of Nevin starting in LF. If the Cubs were contending this year that might be a good move because of Nevin's power, but since they aren't contending you do NOT start a player with no future over one who may have a future. Unless you're Dusty, that is. :x Of course Hendry could sign Nevin to a two year contact. Then he would have a future. Why stop at two years? :DGood point! Lets give him 5! :?

  15. 16th start of the year. FIRST time he has not allowed a run! Who woulda thunk it.
  16. Dusty bought all of them. That's one strange man love he has for Neifi. Maybe the two of them can double date with Guillen and Moriotti? LOL...love is in the air.
  17. Dusty bought all of them.
  18. Dusty and Jim were none too pleased with his comments after the Barrett/AJ fiasco and they aren't above holding personal grudges at the expense of the team. What did Hill say ? I totally missed that. Hill still has lessons to learn
  19. I still find some of the Pagan injury coverage funny (albeit it mind boggling). But my absolute favorite was on a WGN pregame show when Hendry said something to the effect of "when we get Lee and Pagan back..." That was something. I smell a two year contract.
  20. I think that's out of reach. The 1962 Mets lost 120 games.Never underestimate this team! I think we can go 13-76 the rest of the way! It will be tough but I think Dusty has got it in him.

  23. Thanks for the info. I had just read that in the thread you mentioned and at least now it makes sense.
  24. I guess my question was that if Bynum is better against righthanders (in Dusty's mind anyway) why PH Murton for him? Why not just let Bynum (lefty) bat?
