  1. Sounds like speculation straight from the player, but if the Raiders don't sign him, I would love to bring in Houston for the 3 technique. http://www.mercurynews.com/raiders/ci_24813839/raiders-notebook-lamarr-houston-expects-be-moving I like Melton, but I feel that if they are going to invest in a 3 tackle, I would rather have the guy we know is healthy. Re-sign Wootton, bring in Michael Bennett, and draft a raw mid round DE and I would be pretty happy with that D-line.
  2. You'd think the refs would be alerted. You would, it's just a call that's never made. I don't know if this is something he does a lot or not, but if so I think we're going to be seeing a lot more of it next year around the league since the refs don't want to call it. My guess is the end of next year they start throwing flags at it.
  3. I've already seen two plays where there were illegal picks by this Chip Kelly offense. Is this why he's had so much success this year?
  4. In the Dallas game, I remember them taking a penalty inside the 5 yard line and being relieved. Unfortunately, they didn't convert the TD and just took a FG.
  5. With a shoulder injury, shouldn't Briggs been pretty decently conditioned by getting on the bike every day? I would think so at least. He obviously won't be in peak physical condition, but I would expect him to be in on the majority of plays with the occasional breather on a 8-12 play drive.
  6. Am I not allowed to use the word uncanny unless the situations are statistically 99% similar?
  7. Somebody texted Boers and Bernstein about this last week. It's an uncanny comp. WPA, EPA 2007 Todd Collins: 0.34, 14.0 (5 G) 2013 Josh McCown: 2.76, 88.6 (7 G) Did I say anything about how similar it was statistically?
  8. I would say Romo gets more unfair criticism. The national media has recently been picking up on the December statistics and trying to absolve Romo. The theme is still that Romo is a choker though. I saw several meme's on Facebook on Romo choking late in the season.
  9. Somebody texted Boers and Bernstein about this last week. It's an uncanny comp.
  10. Really? The Browns have a legit defense. I would much rather he had come back for the Vikings or Cowboys.
  11. The same way you start any conversation involving contract negotiations? This isn't going back to your wife after trying but failing to hook up with a supermodel. It's not awkward or panicking or anything weird at all. There's absolutely no leverage for the Cubs in this proposed conclusion. It makes absolutely no sense.
  12. That's some interesting logic, Joel. FWIW, Loxas is claiming the meeting is not about an extension. What do you mean interesting logic? If Cubs are meeting with Samardzija's people, what else would it be about besides an extension talk, and if they are talking extension, why wouldn't that suggest they aren't hearing what they want on trade market. I mean, I guess they could just be having a courtesy meeting to let his people know what sort of destination may be in his future, that seems less likely to me. Maybe they'd rather sign him and want to take one last crack at it before they trade him. Maybe, though I don't see how it is more of a logical conclusion than what Joel Sherman wrote. Even if you assume their preference is to sign him, that pretty much means it is because what they have seen on the trade market isn't as enticing as they would want to trade him. I think it's a much more logical conclusion. The Cubs don't want to sign Samardzija to what he's demanding. So you think they are going to run back to him after the trade market turned up nothing? How do you even start that conversation? "Well... we can't get what we want for you in a trade... so how about that contract we offered you?" My guess is they have a trade structured, they are going to Samardzija and telling him which team and just expressing to him one final time that they would rather sign him to the extension they've already offered. It can't hurt to make a final attempt, especially if there's a possibility that he is not agreeable to his destination.
  13. Been watching this game while peeling potatoes and just wanted a chance to see the Boilermakers. Never expected the game to be this close, especially while trailing by 20+.
  14. i'm not saying turn him down, just get your pitchers first Brett Lawrie could then be exchanged for good pitchers and services. http://www.reactiongifs.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/yes-rudy1.gif
  15. Really? Evans isn't anything special and owed ~$32 million over the next 3 years and Rivers is a fringe player who probably should be the the D League and was one of, if not the worst, players in the league last year. You aren't going to get anything "special" back for a half-season of Lou, and the numbers have to work. Evans has scored quite a bit, had an 18-plus PER last season, and is only 24. Rivers is only 21 and in his second year, so he's worth a roll of the dice. He has enough range to be a solid 3-point threat if he develops. Yeah, I think I'd just rather get picks and/or a good-decent young player on a cheaper deal. Here's a crazy trade I just did because I'm currently in a trade machine rabbit hole (this is operating off the assumption the Bucks owner truly is going to try and get the 8 seed or better at all costs). Bulls get: Larry Sanders, Perkins, Sefolosha (expiring), Ekpe Udoh (expiring) Bucks get: Deng, Collison, Perry Jones, Steve Adams Thunder get: Noah, Caron Butler, Gary Neal Bucks lineup moving forward: Knight, Mayo, Deng, Ilyasova, Henson/Pachulia Bulls lineup: Hinrich, Butler, Sefolosha, Boozer, Sanders Thunder lineup: Russ, Neal/Butler/Lamb, Durant, Ibaka, Noah I think I would want a little more than just Larry Sanders for Noah and Deng.
  16. I was actually thinking about something like that. I think OKC would have to throw in Lamb though... you know, just to even out the money.
  17. Anyone able to find video of this? Power was knocked out yesterday and I have yet to see this in any highlight reel from the game.
  18. Davis had 14 points, 7 rebounds, a steal, 2 blocks, and 2 assists in 15 minutes of play. Nice bounce back after his 1-7 night. Extremely happy with Stephens' outside shooting so far too. I'm hoping he can keep that up. The free throw shooting was back in the 60% area, but pretty happy with the result. I'm hoping the freshman can get up to speed by the time the conference schedule starts.
  19. Right there with ya.
  20. I don't understand why anyone is flipping out now. It was a minor injury and one that Rose could have sufferedif he played last year or not.
  21. Yes. If he had only pulled his hamstring last year, there's no possible way it could get injured this year.
  22. I don't usually go out of my way to watch any basketball outside of the Big 10, but I may have to tune in to watch Wiggins tonight.
  23. Which A ball pitchers have the ability to make a jump into the top ten next year. EDIT: Nevermind, looks like I was a bit late.
  24. I rather enjoyed the woman that had 10 seconds to process the brilliant decision she was going to make before eventually dumping beer on Pardy.
  25. Awesome, we get to endure this on Monday night too!
