  1. He's a guy I'd want to get in the lab for a bit. I'm not sure how much changing they could do on the fly.
  2. Depending on who is drafted, I'd have Caissie, Wiggins, Rojas, Balleteros way ahead, Alcantara slightly ahead and then I'd have them in the same tier with Long and Triantos.
  3. Bradley is someone I'd love in the offseason but not right now. Zero interest in Eflin or Sugano.
  4. At this point he's got to be the run away favorite to be considered the #1 prospect in the farm if he's even close to this productive after a AA promotion.
  5. Cub weaknesses getting absolutely exposed tonight. Weak against lefties and desperately need a SP because enough with this bullpen games already.
  6. If by some fluke Gage Wood makes it to the 2nd round because of injury concerns I pray the Cubs figure out some voodoo cap magic to fit him
  7. Rojas goes to AA and finishes strong, he's going to pop up in some top 30s, maybe even higher. I think he's the odds on favorite to be the highest ranked Cub prospect at the end of the year.
  8. Absolutely, I just think a deal could get done without Caissie and Wiggins.
  9. He's getting to the point where I'm not even entirely sure I'm ok with him being moved for Cabrera.
  10. Yeah ESPN's zones in their game cast have never struck me as particularly accurate so I'm not surprised they were apparently wrong.
  11. So help me god if they treat Judge like they did Raleigh I'm going to lose my mind.
  12. 25 HR and 27 SB and we're not quite to the ASB. It's going to take something really unfortunate happening for PCA not to hit 40/40 this year.
  13. Man I came in here for the PCA double dong celebration and instead I get this horsefeathers.
  14. Part of me thinks Gallagher would be the ask knowing Baltimore's needs. I'm not sure I'm entirely ok with that, but that probably means it's reasonable.
  15. I think I'm kind of all in on Charlie Morton. I definitely don't want him as the only pitcher the Cubs get, but if they're grabbing a 2nd pitcher who is a low cost rental, he's kind of ideal. I don't know what happened to him after his incredibly rough start but since May 10, he has been absolutely killing it. Since May 10, not including today's 6IP 4H 1ER 3 BB 4K win over the Mets 45.2IP 2.76ERA 2.73 FIP 3.15 xFIP 11.04 K/9 2.56 BB/9
  16. This is kind of what I was alluding to. Like @Outshined_One mentioned, the vast majority of Aloy's profile fits what the Cubs like. Exit velocity, success in the cape with wood bats, etc. The significant swing and miss issues are a bit unusual, but outside of that he has a lot of the traits the Cubs typically like. However, by 17 there's likely a number of unexpected if not borderline crazy things that will happen. A team might pop Laviolette early tempted by the power, a top 10 might pop Gage Wood and his upside while trying to get some slot savings. The mocks almost feel more like prospect rankings than any kind of actual mock.
  17. I can't recall a draft recently where so many people were all in the Cubs with the same pick, and the closer we get to draft day the number continues to increase. The FO deserves the benefit of the doubt if they go this way, but Aloy really isn't my preference.
  18. The Cubs certainly do love guys who don't miss a lot of bats. It's really bizarre. SP: 7.63 K/9 (23rd) RP: 7.40 K/9 (30th) Overall: 7.53 K/9 (27th) Giolito this year 7.96 K/9.
  19. I looked around and didn't see anything for trades made by other teams, but we have our first kind of notable trade of the deadline. Orioles Trade RP Bryan Baker to the Rays for the 37th overall draft pick. Baker was having a really nice season until he got torched in his last outing. He had a 2.58 ERA 3.27 FIP 2.70 xFIP before getting shellacked for 4 hits and 4 ER on 2 HRs without getting anyone out. He currently sits at a 3.52 ERA 3.95 FIP 2.78 xFIP to go with 11.5 K/9 and 2.11 BB/9. He's under control through 2028. The trade gives the Orioles nearly 20M in draft capital and 6 picks in the first 60.
  20. Ryan or Cabrera would be slam dunks. Pair them up with a rental like Kelly or Lugo and this rotation suddenly looks very strong.
  21. Happ still has a 105 wRC+ this year, it's not like he's Mancini a few years ago. He might seriously be the most underappreciated Cub in recent history. A pretty solid bet he finishes his career with 25 fWAR which is a really nice career.
