  1. Nice hustle Kosuke. Good to see him get a hit.
  2. Good lord Fontenot is bad right now.
  3. Bleh, it's 3-1 and he swings at a pitch around his ankles. He has to be sitting on a fastball over the plate.
  4. It's only the second inning and I'm already getting pissed about how good they're making this guy look. His stuff is incredibly marginal; there's no reason not to get some decent swings on him.
  5. Is it just me or does WGN have a ridiculous amount of production problems?
  6. Lilly is really getting touched up early. I hope he can keep them in the game.
  7. You can't make a base running error like that with the heart of the line up hitting.
  8. This pitcher looks incredibly hittable; I'm not sure how Sori whiffed on that 86MPH fastball down the middle.
  9. Nice recovery by Lilly; that had the makings of a big inning.
  10. just because you keep saying this doesn't make it true Watch the replay, he's galloping out to the ball. If he's running hard he has ample time to get under the ball. He starts out running hard, but then he slows down and decides to play it over the shoulder rather than get under it.
  11. Of course, a lazy Reed and a missed call suddenly the game is 3-0.
  12. That was pretty half ass right there. If Reed was hustling he had time to get under it and wouldn't have to do an over the shoulder catch.
  13. Some how they've got to get this game in. The Cubs already have a ridiculous amount of games to make up.
  14. Wasting limited resources on what is already the strength of the team; I wouldn't expect anything less from the Cubs.
  15. I don't entirely understand how Hart suddenly became dominant once he was made a starter. Regardless, he's starting to become mildly interesting again. Other clubs seem to value him, so I imagine he'd be amongst those being shopped if the Cubs make a move later on.
  16. Cashner is pitching well. 4.0 IP 3H 1BB 3SO so far. Given his age, I think it's time for Tennessee.
  17. 42 at bats at AA: .310/.348/.500/.848, 3 BB, 7 K. Surprisingly not bad. Yup he's doing his yearly thing where he has a nice stretch and I start getting interested again. About three weeks later I'm silently sobbing about Travis Snider.
  18. It's really disappointing; it was nice to be able to play ignorant and say there was no proof, but in the back of my mind I knew better. If Sammy admits his mistake and apologizes to the fans I see no reason not to forgive him.
  19. My sister, who can't even name 4 players between the Cubs and Sox combined, got a free ticket from one of her friends and they're right behind home. I just know she's going to be one of those idiots on the phone, waving at the camera while wearing her White Sox hat that she bought just for the sake of pissing me off. The world is a really unfair place sometimes.
  20. Well Derosa is almost a lock for type A status at the end of the season so the Indians are going to get some pretty decent value him. He really might end up being more expensive than I had initially considered.
  21. Cleveland really is a mystery right now. They're just as likely to start shopping Cliff Lee as they are to start picking up pieces and trying to make a run. If they do become sellers I wonder what it would take to get Shin-Soo Choo? I know he has two year mandatory military service and he must do it by the time he's 30 which means he has to start serving in 2010. It's the only reason I would think the Indians would even consider shopping him.
  22. Basically that Hendry never would have traded Derosa if he had anticipated Aram going down for this length of time. Also, reacquiring a player with a contract like Derosa wouldn't require Zell's approval. The fact that Crane even slightly acknowledged it was a mistake makes me think they might swallow their pride. That along with a couple other unfounded suspicions make me think there's a chance.
