What do we know about Marco Carrillo? He seems to be very age appropriate for AA if not a little young. His ERA is a ridiculous .47 but his GO/AO ratio makes me think his HR rate is unsustainable. He also has a slightly high walk rate.
It'd be better for Bradley, but he still would come off really badly in this situation. If he left the game of his own accord...yikes. If he left on his own that would have to be the end of him as a Cub right?
It's sad, before this incident I really wanted Bradley to do well because I wanted to like the guy. I thought he was just getting a raw deal. So much for all that. At this point I could care less if he steps on the field for the Cubs again.
So I wonder how much longer Bradley is a Cub for. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he takes a trip to the DL until the Cubs find a team to dump him on.
Pulling Wells was a smart move given his pitch count. Using Marmol was not. He was only at 98; why not let him start the inning and pull him if he gets into trouble? Give him like a 110 pitch limit and milk him as long as you can.
I love Ozzie Guillen. Your pitcher has already hurt his back, but you keep him in for the 7th. He gives up 3 runs in the 7th and 5 runs on the day. At this point even Lou is smart enough to pull his starter, but Ozzie keeps Contreras in for the 8th too.
