  1. It's going to be really sad if Soriano makes the ASG.
  2. They suckered me in after the Cleveland series; I'm not getting tricked again during this Pittsburgh series.
  3. Theriot does what Soriano is unable to do. GJ Riot.
  4. Wow, 96mph on one of those fastballs. It feels like it's been a while since he's been touching that with any kind of consistency.
  5. Hahaha, Jake Fox is so slow. Pretty good slide though.
  6. Yep. I thought that big curve was right in the middle, but it must not have been because it didn't get called. It's almost impossible to judge a pitch right now.
  7. 2 on and no out, I'm sure this is just another soul crushing tease.
  8. Much like DLee had the grounder to SS last year, Soriano has the mile high shallow fly ball to left center this year.
  9. So you don't think there's been any kind of turnaround in the last 3 drafts? I'd have to believe he doesn't follow the minors if he doesn't think the last couple of drafts have been solid. The farm is starting to rebound really nicely. I could see 4 maybe even 5 guys (Vitters, Jay Jackson, Castro, Shark, Cashner) sneak into the top 100 if things work out.
  10. That is absurd. They could have put a pitching machine out there and had better results.
  11. LOL, WTF? http://www.baseball-reference.com/pl/player_search.cgi?search=2003+cubs http://www.baseball-reference.com/player_search.cgi?sourceid=Mozilla-search&search=2007+cubs You done embarrassing yourself yet? Either I'm confused or you just owned yourself really really bad.
  12. Where did you hear this? I'd like to check it out.
  13. Hmm, why didn't I think of that? ](*,) I ask it all seriousness. It's not like crappy Cubs teams are a surprise to anyone who is a Cubs fan and over the age of, say, 15. Yes, this team obviously had huge expectations and the Cubs being bad is never going to not "hurt," but the repeated bemoaning that being a fan of this team is so horrible just seems pretty hollow when people could easily just stop being an active fan if they wanted to. It honesly seems like some prefer being able to complain about the team and players doing poorly and wallowing in self-pity. It's so much harder to quit being a fan than you make it sound. There have been times when I've been absolutely disgusted by this team and I've made it a week or even two, but the same thing inevitably happens. I'll be flipping channels and stumble on the game; the addiction begins all over again. I just wish I could stop following them so closely that their level of play affects my mood.
  14. I really have to believe that Lou is 3 or 4 losses in a row away from being unemployed either by his own hand or Hendry's.
  15. You really have faith they won't pick a toolsy outfielder or college reliever though? Not really, but I do know that I enjoy watching minor league prospects much more than I enjoy watching this circus.
  16. Well on the bright side if they continue this type of dreadful performance they'll get a pretty decent draft pick next year.
  17. I'm so afraid that Jim will trade Vitters. If Hendry is dumb enough to trade Vitters, Castro, Jackson etc to try and salvage this season then I'll be the first one in front of Wrigley with a Fire Jim Hendry sign. That type of move would be a ploy to save his job and would have nothing to do with helping the team. I agree, but he's gonna make a move to respond to DeRosa. I hope it isn't Vitters plus a guy for a month and a half of Holliday. I dont' even know how I would react to something like that. Something like that would stand a high chance of making me into a casual fan; I couldn't make myself follow this team with the same intensity.

  19. I don't think I want this team to be a seller just yet, but I certainly don't want them to make any deal involving legit prospects. I'd much rather just stay with what we have and let things play out rather than give up prospects trying to salvage this abomination of a season.
  20. Really? Carpenter is far better than any pitcher on the Cubs Wainwright is as good as any pitcher on the Cubs Pineiro isn't as good, but is pitched as well as any pitcher on the Cubs Lohse is hurt, but he's a a solid 3rd, good 4th starter Wainwright would have the 4th best ERA on the Cubs. Carpenter would have the best ERA, but he's pitched a grand total of 65 innings. ow has Piniero pitched as well as any starter on the Cubs? Lshe is hurt? Go back to St. Louis. Carpenter's resume is solidified. Nobody on your staff is even close Wainwright over the last 3 seasons has been as good as any Cub starter, and this year he'd be second in VORP on the Cubs behind Lilly, who he is a much better pitcher than. Lilly is basically Kyle Lohse with a few more Ks, but more walks. I didn't say Pineiro was a good pitcher, but he's having a very good season. You worry about Ks, I worry about HRs and BBs. And he's given up 12 walks in 92 innings. That's great. And he's given up 2 home runs. It wont last, but that's not what I argued. Carp >>>>>>>> Zambrano Wainwright > Harden (Should he even count? He doesn't even pitch and when he does, he's awful). Lilly = Lohse Dempster > Pineiro, but that's not saying much Randy Wells? Marshall vs. Brad Thompson. Whatever, they all suck. Go to sleep. Can we get a ban on this idiot? Between today's game and the trade I don't have the patience to deal with people like him.
  21. Good thing Lou took out Marshall. I mean he's only a loogy; not a former starter.
