I'm starting to wonder if Derosa might actually be coming back. Between Crane Kenney's radio interview today, Jake Fox sitting and Hafner's shoulder injury there might be enough to speculate that Jake+ brings him back.
I'm not really surprised the Cubs are getting shutout so far; I'm much more surprised they were able to score 4 runs yesterday. Brutal, absolutely brutal.
Looking over some numbers to further depress myself and I noticed that not one Cub player is on pace to have more than 76 RBIs. Soriano leads the team with 27 through 58 games. When was the last time a team didn't have anyone with more than 76 RBIs and didn't trade away a player to achieve that?
If the Cubs don't score today they are on pace for 696 runs compared to 855 last year. Even in the horrible 2006 and 2005 seasons they had 716 and 703 runs respectively. Pathetic doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of describing how bad this offense is.
