  1. They wont let him throw his cutter which is considered his best pitch.
  2. Prediction, by tomorrow Bauer will be called an overhyped nothing special arm and a terrible human being while Didi is a diamond in the rough with lots of untapped upside.
  3. God [expletive] Damn it. I wish we could've figured out a way to let AZ dump one of those guys on us, since they seemed hell bent on getting rid of one. Seriously, where the hell was Theo/Jed on that one?
  4. If Gregarious lands Bauer I am not going to be pleased. We've got the MLB proven version available.
  5. DKnobler ‏@DKnobler How the hell does a team with a 10 million dollar payroll not have enough money to take on Soriano with the Cubs contributing a lot? That is absolutely ridiculous.
  6. If that's true then GMs are a lot stupider then I'd ever believed.
  7. Jerry Crasnick ‏@jcrasnick This is utterly baffling. The value of this package and the one they received are at very least even, yet they were only going to give up Myers. Niese is under control long term and a good #3 while Wheeler is an extremely good pitching prospect who may have legitimate #1 upside.
  8. I'm not even sure their rotation is as good as ours. Guthrie is a back of the rotation pitcher who has never posted a FIP or xFIP below 4.18 in his career. Ervin Santana's only year where he's been borderline good is 2011 where his xFIP was still 4. Wade Davis has never been any good as a starter posted FIP/xFIPs in excess of 4.5 every year he's tried. The rotation is basically James Shields and a whole bunch of back of mediocrity.
  9. I love that suddenly Odorizzi is this nothing prospect after this trade. He's some back of the rotation starter you can find anywhere. I also love that some people are convinced that Davis, who has never been any good as a starter, is going to be a solid rotation guy this year.
  10. thats some gutsy [expletive] Friedman has some brass balls. He sniffed out that desperation and Moore paid the price.
  11. Yeah but what's left now? There's no more Myers or Odorizzi so outside of Starling and maybe some of their pen arms, what can they really offer? RHP Yordano Ventura, Starling, OF Jorge Bonafacio and SS Adalberto Mondesi are probably their top 3 prospects now. Not counting Zimmer who can't be traded. Ah you're right, I forgot about Ventura who I really like.
  12. Yeah but what's left now? There's no more Myers or Odorizzi so outside of Starling and maybe some of their pen arms, what can they really offer?
  13. I've learned something very valuable thanks to this trade. Fans will become completely and utterly delusional to justify moves their team makes regardless of how ludicrous they are. I knew it before, but I didn't realize that there is seemingly no end to the denial. I want to backhand the next Royals fans who says "but it helps us compete now".
  14. Could we really not have gotten just Odorizzi for Garza right now? If they're going to give up all that for Shields you'd have to think it was a possibility right?
  15. He should be fired right now. Any owner who keeps a GM who makes that trade deserves whatever they get.
  16. I can't recall the last time I've seen a trade this lopsided. KC just got absolutely reamed for James Shields.
  17. They should've gotten a legitimate ace like Price for Myers. Not sure if it's sarcasm, but they should have at least used him as the headliner for a guy like Price.
  18. If you're going to trade a prospect like Wil Myers you have to get a better player than James Shields. I realize Shields is a good pitcher but come on.
  19. Marshall drops one too. 3 drops on that drive alone.
  20. Just stop giving the ball to Kellen he's terrible in every aspect of the game.
  21. Nice return Weems. Looks like no one bothered to show up.
  22. Seriously another injury? Half the damn team has gotten injured in the last 3 weeks.
  23. Now we're going to have to hear how this is all Jay's fault when Alshon fell down.
  24. I wonder how many times a team has gone 7-1 and missed the playoffs.
