  1. I"m really not sure how Drew Smyly even got put in there with two guys who have TOR potential. If Castro gets moved for Drew Smyly type talent then I'm done with this team.
  2. The Padres don't have a TOR capable arm with control and combining their top 4 remaining prospects doesn't even get close. Game over, move on.
  3. I really don't hate this for the Red Sox. I figured he was a good bet for 6/110 in FA so they pay a bit more annually to not have to deal with the health risk in the last two years.
  4. His hand? classic zambrano cramp Yup, thumb cramp on his throwing hand.
  5. Down goes Yordano Ventura. Throws a pitch, slams his glove down and starts grabbing his pitching hand.
  6. Samardzija getting lit up in his WSox debut. Moustakas goes yard and then Jeff drills Cain in the arm one pitch later.
  7. If we're going after Orioles I want Bundy. He's probably significantly cheaper. Give him some time with Bosio and give him back his cutter and you have a #5 starter in 2016 with top of the rotation potential.
  8. Congratulations ump, by my count that's pitch number 20 you've gotten wrong followed by #21.
  9. Yes he did, I can't believe it wasn't challenged.
  10. Long story that eventually ends with a Kruk is fat and dumb punchline.
  11. Fingers still crossed that he becomes something.
  12. This strike zone is literally a foot too wide.
  13. Why didn't he throw over then? In short, an abundance of caution. There were zero outs, he's already moving towards first, he's left handed so he has to wheel around completely one way or another, basically the same reason every 10 year old is trained to go to 1st in that situation. He was almost stumbling towards 1st base, so the throw to 3rd would not have been near as easy as Schilling was making it sounds.
  14. So many pitches right in the middle of the plate.
  15. Holy hell is Kruk on speed? He's talking so fast he's out of breath.
  16. 150M well spent.
  17. 25HRs later he's going to sign a disgustingly reasonable deal with STL and cause us frustration for the next decade.
  18. Does no one mention Dansby because they don't think he's going to be there for the Cub's pick? If the Cubs passed him up I'd be livid.
  19. Pitching is too deep to even consider it. There are 7 or 8 other pitchers out there that you could convince me are on par with Aiken before his injury. Disagree. If Aiken legitimately was considered a 1.1 candidate last year, he would have at least been considered the top pitcher again this year, pre-TJS, in another weak draft. Besides, nearly all the top pitchers have suffered injuries this season (Aiken, Allard - though it's only his back, Buehler and Matuela). So that leaves Tate, Kirby (doesn't have as good stuff as Aiken), Fulmer (reliever ceiling?) and Funkhouser who haven't been hurt. Yet. Just out of curiosity, what makes you think Fulmer's best case scenario is a reliever other than size? Granted he's only averaging 6IP per start, but that's not too bad when you're putting up a 12.86K/9.
  20. People mocked the Astros medical staff for thinking there was an issue with his elbow because other name doctors disagreed. Aiken's elbow pops. If they should be mocked it would be for not doing a more thorough medical examination before the draft, not for reducing an offer on what they perceived to be damaged goods. This is exactly the point. There was nothing there to perceive as damaged goods. There is no proof that a small UCL leads to TJS and their were doctors, including James Andrews, who said as much. It was a fabricated story to drive Aiken's price down. You could literally make up anything that's slightly out of the ordinary and claim that you're worried about and use it as an excuse to drive the price down.
  21. Between Baltimore,Boston,Arizona and whoever else is out there, I can't see Castillo being a Cub much longer.
  22. I really hope he's the 5th starter when he's healthy.
