  1. Butler is gone 3 to 6 weeks. I don't know if I can bring myself to watch a game during that span. It's going to be some really really bad basketball.
  2. I went with Almora but it's probably draft bias. If Pierce and Underwood were prospects in other farms along with Almora, I would probably have them first.
  3. The absolute date is like 12 or 13 days into the season. But you usually give yourself another week to give plausible deniability, because holding him down purely for service-time reasons is against the rules and he can file a grievance to get the service time restored. This is exactly what I've read across several different sites. 13 days, but they'll keep him down for 3 weeks to avoid a grievance.
  4. That's just crazy late movement on a fastball.
  5. I went with McKinney. He walks, doesn't K a concerning amount and is extremely young for his league(Could be 20 in AA this year). He doesn't have a huge ceiling, but I could envision him as a 280/350/450 guy in the majors if everything went right. Next year I'll probably have Torres higher if he succeeds in full season ball, but for now I'll take McKinney's history.
  6. They should be over the limit, but unfortunately they are not because MLB likes to make rules as they go. My understanding was because they didn't retain the rights to Nix despite giving him the 1.5M that it did not count.
  7. I know it's not Derrick's fault, but I just can't wait until his contract is over. All of these wasted years and they never even really sniffed a Finals.
  8. Your anti Castillo boner is rather troubling. I'd wager at least half of your posts involve calling Castillo worthless in some form or another.
  9. Went with Edwards because the numbers are always strong. If he fails to log innings again this year then he will take a big tumble.
  10. That is absolutely awesome. Yadier Alvares is a must sign.
  11. Schwarber is one of maybe a handful of prospects around the league that I am absolutely sure will hit at the big league level, it's just a matter of where he's going to play defense at.
  12. Going Russell again since he didn't get #1.
  13. I went with Russell. He plays a position much higher up the defensive spectrum than Soler and he doesn't have any large gaps in his game like Bryant.
  14. Seattle SP prospect Victor Sanchez was hit in the head by the propeller of a passing boat while swimming in Venezuela. He's in critical condition. http://blogs.seattletimes.com/mariners/2015/02/15/mariners-pitching-prospect-victor-sanchez-injured-in-accident/
  15. To be honest I think I probably have Bryant right around #5 in my personal list behind Corey Seager,Carlos Correa,Addison Russell and perhaps Buxton. None of them have a glaring weakness like Bryant and they all play a position higher up the defensive spectrum.
  16. Guerrero Jr. will be eligible to sign with a major league team as an international free agent on July 2, 2015. Niceeeeeeeee. Have the Cubs been connected to him at all? I didn't see anything in a quick google search. He's been heavily linked to Toronto, if I'm not mistaken. Yes, I think they have a verbal agreement in place. Yeah they've pretty much agreed on a deal for 3.3M last I read
  17. I'm not sure mop-up reliever and 3rd string catcher will have a ton of value. I'd happily take Zach Eflin and or Matt Imhoff for them.
  18. Their refusal to address their bullpen year after year is amazing.
  19. If the Cubs were able to deal away Wood and Castillo to the Phillies for prospects that would save 7.785M this year. If they were able to eat half of Edwin's remaining 2/22 deal they could save 5.5M more this year. That means with the previously saved 13.285M, payroll only has to go up about 5M this year to land Shields, assuming 4/72. I don't see how they aren't all in on it.
  20. I still say I'd rather have Shields at 4/70 to 4/80 over Price 7/180 and Zimmerman/Shark/Cueto 6/130+ type deals.
  21. Garpax needs to make a trade to save this season. I am not at all impressed with Thibs this year. Hinrich has no business playing 28 minutes last night when neither Snell or Doug see a single minute. Why is DRose not being benched for continuing to chuck 3s, he was 2/9 last night. Another couple weeks of this nonsense and Thibs is going to be looking for a new team.
  22. It had better be more than that. If they add Shields on top of already adding Heyward the division is out of the reach barring a ton of bad breaks for the Cards.
  23. Rose just sucks so bad. A typical line from him so far tonight 4/12FG 0/3 3PT 2AST 2TO.
