    #7 is looking like the most likely scenario at this point. That 8 game win streak is going to loom pretty large unless the Cubs somehow sneak into #5.

    was gonna say i'd be hoping for better than that, but then i looked him up and see that he had nearly 50 WAR in his career, so yeah i'd take that no problem. My thought was Curtis Granderson.

    I'm expecting this one to be realistically over early in the 3rd quarter. I'll be watching to see if Fields shows any flashes, assuming Dalton isn't going.

    That 3rd down to Mooney was his first bad throw. His offense isn't helping him at all.

    I don't get running a super fast QB up the gut on 4th and 1. Let him use his assets.

    Among players with at least 100 PAs, Schwindel's 169 wRC+ puts him 4th in baseball behind only Trout, Harper and Vlad.

    If Triantos can start approaching even 50 FV pop, we could be talking about a major impact bat.

    Huge fan of Triantos. My favorite prospects are the guys with the plus to plus plus hit tools like Corbin Carroll. The fact that he's already flashing this kind of pop is really exciting.

    The plan continues to be, tank the season and then give Fields the Job instead of giving Fields a chance to actually do something with this season. I'd expect nothing less from Nagy.

    I already know St. Louis is going to win that playoff and probably beat SF in the LDS too just to piss me the hell off This is going to be that 2006 [expletive] all over again isn't it? Where they go a very average 83-78 and win the WS anyways.

    Yeah. The idiot, sanctimonious pricks who run it ruined keeping it purely stats/performances a long time ago. Treat it as a museum/narrative/history of the game thing at this point, it being some benchmark of career performance has long passed. The moment the HoF committee decided to wait until Santo died before voting him in, was when it became was entirely dead to me. It was nothing more than proof that they continually denied him, while he was alive, out of nothing but vengeful spite. It absolutely crushes me that Santo never got to receive that call when he was still around, especially when it obviously meant so much to him.

    40%, that's the chances I think the Bears actually win this one.

    Fangraphs thinks 2022 is going to be another lost year for the Cubs. I expect a couple middling FAs and severe regression for Wisdom, Schwindel and Ortega. My guess is 70ish wins.

    I can't get over all of the people claiming Dalton was alright. His QBR and passing yards were both bottom 10 this week. Is so little expected that anything short of a disaster is ok?

    Can't wait to hear Nagy talk up Dalton's game in the press conference. 195 yards, two turnovers and zero TDs before garbage time and we're going to hear how efficient he was and how good his decision making is.

    I'll never understand why they always throw to a receiver short of the 1st down marker in those scenarios.
