  1. I'm actually kind of shocked out how many meatheads on the radio are all about the WSox bringing back Ozzie. It's a meme level terrible idea and yet a seemingly large amount of people are all about it.
  2. Really? This is pretty much exactly what I expect as a Chicago sport's fan.
  3. That looked to be above the belt too, not exactly a prime pitch for a guy with a slow bat to rope back up the middle. Exactly what I was going to say. Seems to me, you'd need a quick bat to square up a a letters high fastball, but what do I know. I mean Law saw him for a full 3 games.
  4. I've been thinking about this for a couple weeks now and I just don't get it.
  5. I'd consider that a success. I think it's more like 24-7.
  6. Why would Abreu get more money than he did 3 years ago? Because I typo'd 45 into 54 and didn't notice it
  7. Please no. Fields is already constantly under pressure, this is only going to make things even worse. Herbert can't block at all.
  8. I can't wait to hear about how great Bailey Zappe is and how bad Justin Fields is for the next 2 weeks.
  9. Boss is out of the office so, let's kill some time. I'm not going to trade Madrigal simply because the return isn't going to be much and I think he's a solid bet to be a 2 to 3fWAR. After July 1st a he put up a 95 wRC+ on a .308 babip while his season numbers were a 70 wRC+ and .286 babip. Conforto 3/48 Cubs acquire Sean Murphy for Thompson, Alcantara and Hernandez(This is probably a prospect light) I'm not convinced he's willing to be a full time DH, but if he is, then Abreu 3/54 Smyly 2/14 Senga 5/75 Correa 8/250 1B: Mervis 2B: Madrigal SS: Hoerner 3B: Correa RF: Suzuki CF: Happ LF: Conforto C: Murphy DH: Abreu I actually quite like this. A lot more pop than the 2022 squad and significant defensive upgrades in Correa/Murphy. SP: Stroman, Senga, Steele, Smyly, Hendricks The staff isn't great but solid and with Killian/Wicks/Wesneski all likely to see innings in 2023 and Sampson a capable fill in, the depth is really good.
  10. DH & 1B I just wonder if Abreu is going to be wiling to sign with a team where he's going to be the DH 80+% of the time if Mervis is actually good. He played 128 games at 1B last year so, I doubt he's going to be ok with that.
  11. I think we're going to look back and be really pissed off they beat Houston.
  12. I am going to be very annoyed if a 36 year old Abreu is blocking Mervis next year.
  13. Daboll is quite a coach, if only there was a coach like that around when the Bears were looking.....
  14. Velus Jones and #17 are determined to get the Bears a top 5 draft pick.
  15. Jones better figure out how to run routes because he has no clue as a punt returner.
  16. He is getting absolutely destroyed tonight. Sweat has been all over Fields.
  17. I thought they were a lock for a top 4 going into the ASB and now they're looking at #12, gross.
  18. I wonder if the Bears could get anything good for Herbert with all the desperation out there. He flashes a lot when he gets touches, but his blocking is so terrible that I don't know if he can ever be a lead back. I don't see him as the lead back even when Montgomery leaves.
  19. From everything I've read, the Raiders gave him way too many responsibilities and expected him to be the starter from day 1 when nearly every draft expert said he was a project pick that needed time. I'm actually pretty optimistic about him despite his performance last year.
  20. Fans were complaining about the lack of energy and hustle on the field this year. Washington brings a solution to that problem.
  21. I just realized, was the Minnesota game the first one of the season where Fields didn't have someone commit an unnecessary roughness penalty on him? I remember one slide and was actually surprised that he didn't take a helmet to helmet since it seems to happen every time.
  22. Quick observations. I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I felt like Jenkins played a lot more which, along with Montgomery, helped the blocking a lot. Honestly if they could just get someone who was even remotely close to sniffing average over Mustipher, I think the line would be Okish. Kyler Gordon actually looked good in the 2nd half after being completely miserable the first 4.5 games. Dominque Robinson continues to impress. I can't believe that was Vildor's first interception and it was 1/3 of the way through his 3rd season. Fields wasn't pinpoint but he threw them close enough where there were more catches that should have been made. His pocket awareness was drastically better. I hated the run on 3rd and 3 in the red zone. Going for 2 in the early 3rd quarter and the following onside kick made little sense.
  23. That was a terrible call, but the refs also completely blew a PI the previous play that would have had TB around the ATL 20.
  24. Same guy who ruins Fields's touchdown run, ruins the game.
