  1. I don't dislike Taillon but he's a mid rotation guy and that's his upside. I would have liked them to grab someone with the possibility to take that next step. Still, the guy is a solid #3 on a good rotation.
  2. Illinois takes out #2 in OT after being down 10 with 7 minutes to go. Huge win.
  3. What is the upside play here? If you think you're going to be competitive this year, you don't blow almost 20m on a guy with this many question marks and even if he's good, then you have to pay him full fa rate next year.
  4. 17.5m, gross.
  5. Heaney to the Rangers on a 2/25 deal that could be as much as 2/37.
  6. This is the dream, but I can't imagine it would be cheap. Yep, he'll be that AJ Brown territory. Not getting him for less than a first rounder. I'd love a scenario where they get both of the Seattle's 1sts and used the 2nd 1st to get Higgins.
  7. This is the dream, but I can't imagine it would be cheap.
  8. I'd be all for that, but I don't know how much value Madrigal has. He can't stay healthy, has no defensive value, and has no power. He's like a 1970s early 80s-era 2nd baseman. He's a 2.5-3 fWAR guy, when healthy, still under control for 4 years. There's value there.
  9. Just me talking out my ass, but with the Orioles desperately wanting pitching and top tier FAs likely reluctant to go, I wonder if we match up. They have a true CF in Mullins, we have Keegan Thompson to dangle. It would take another significant piece say Madrigal and maybe even a minor prospect. Baltimore had the worst production out of 2B in all of baseball last year so a healthy Madrigal is an pretty big upgrade and Keegan gives them a solid 4/5.
  10. Good god, how busted is Brailyn that he was not only cut, but able to be resigned?
  11. Murphy put up 5.1fwar to Jansen's 2.6 and comes with an extra year of control. It's not that close.
  12. Stop trying to raise my expectations, stupid Cobs.
  13. That'll work. If the goal is a 70-75 win team, then I think that'll do nicely.
  14. If Leatherwood is a thing, that's pretty huge. Nice 37.5 on the pass blocking for Mustipher.
  15. Must be nice to be a big market team and act like a big market team
  16. The play calling was just so drastically different in the 2nd half. They were driving at will in the 1st half, then suddenly in the 2nd half they change things and can't move the ball. If that's not intentional, then I'm very concerned about our OC's ability to help this become a winning team.
  17. I mean he's really good, but why? William Contreras is on the verge of being a top tier catcher.
  18. Denver blowing that game really hurts.
  19. That was one of the most obvious tank jobs I've ever seen.
  20. Tank mode in full effect
  21. This play calling in the 2nd half...
  22. Ok enough with the quick outs to Claypool.
  23. Not sure why they keep throwing. I don't think the Bears could stop 3 runs.
