  1. Returning to the topic of team owners being total scumbags, the Orioles 's lease ends in December and to agree to New terms Angelos has made several demands. 1, he wants 900m instead of the previously discussed 600m for stadium renovations. 2, he wants the land around the stadium either given to him or highly subsidized so he can create something similar to Atlanta. Basically he wants what Ricketts did to the stadium/neighborhood, but he has the balls to ask the taxpayers to cover it all. I wonder what that must be like to have other people give you money so you can increase your revenue streams?
  2. Didn't you know, the only touchdowns that count for Fields are strikes thrown into tight coverage. Screens, rushes, etc. don't matter.
  3. He's quite a bit bigger than I thought, he's also decisive and hits the hole hard.
  4. It sure feels like the DBs are being very aggressive going for the ball
  5. I didn't realize Ebner was still around. Why would he get touches over Roschon Johnson?
  6. When you have a 91 wRC+ on a .641 babip with a 48.6 K% at this level at age 21, you better be careful or your career might be real brief.
  7. Absolute waste of a 3rd round pick
  8. Fields is probably done, right?
  9. The downfield blocking has been absolutely excellent
  10. The offense is really showing out
  11. Preseason so it doesn't mean a whole lot, but this defense, especially the dline, looks bad.
  12. Owning a sports team is the greatest investment ever. You get huge tax breaks, the vast majority of the stadiums are at least subsidized if not entirely funded by the taxpayers and the franchise value seems to double every 10 or so years.
  13. It's like the days of the Daytona Cubs where it felt like there were multiple rain outs weekly.
  14. So I suppose that Mike Lorenzen trade is working out ok for the Phillies. 2 GS 17IP 6H 2ER 10K 5BB including a no hitter last night Obviously with that K/9 and .111 babip that's not going to last, but that's about as good a start as you could hope for. For fun. Jeimer's line since joining the Cubs .485/.541/.727 good for a 246 wRC+
  15. That was my fault. I turned the game on, 5 seconds later Alonso bomb. I immediately turned it off.
  16. Not sure I like having a slumping Morel and Seiya plus K machine Wisdom all in the line up.
  17. Ok, you heard it here gentleman. If you're 25+ and you're not putting up a 200 wRC+ on 80% flyballs you're horsefeathers and not worthy of getting a chance at the big leagues.
  18. 3,9 fWAR in 2021 and likely a 5 fWAR performance this year. Even with a horrific 2022, he's going to get paid pretty well. Remember, even Mancini got 2/14 and he has 1 total season over 1.5 fWAR
  19. Deloach= 113 wRC+ on a .394 babip and 27.8K% Trammel= 125 wRC+ and has been given 351 major league PAs in which he has posted a .168/.270/.368 line with a 37.0k% Scheiner= 115 wRC+ Mervis= 137 wRC+, 99 MLB PA with a .167/.242/.289 line on a .218 babip Walks more than any of those guys, strikes out less than any of those guys, higher wRC+ than any of those guys
  20. As always, it depends on what type of deal he's looking for. He's had a career year in 2023 , but he was awful in 2022, In 2021 he was good, posting almost 4 fWAR. If he's looking at like 4/72, even 4/80, I could see that, but if he's trying to cash in on this year for something like 6/150 then hard pass.
  21. I saw an article that warranted like 4 or 5 responses was somehow at 5 pages and I was 90% sure of the answer why before I even opened it.
  22. I just don't get being this down on Alcantara. Even if we ignore that he clearly adjusted to A+ after a horrific start, his overall numbers put him at a 118 wRC+, in a season where he turned 21 less than a month ago while playing a premium defensive position.
  23. I was on the Michael Busch train for that draft.
  24. The farm completely lacks the star power that made that run possible. The Orioles are the 2015 Cubs.
  25. Perlaza kind of has to get one, though I wouldn't expect him to see any big league time until roster expansion.
