  1. I feel disgusted that I'm going to have to start hoping GB wins. Williams or Maye cannot fall in their hands.
  2. I've already said my ideal draft was taking neither Maye or Williams. Unfortunately that dream kind of died when they traded the 2nd for Sweat. I wanted MHJ and one of Fashanu/Alt then to use the 2nd to trade up back into the 1st to grab one of Penix, McCarthy or even Nix.
  3. It's not so flashly as Soto, Alonso, etc. but if the Cubs are looking for a solid bat that they could use as the OF/DH or even at 1B, I don't think Anthony Santander would be the worst choice. 119 and 122 wRC+ the last two years and he's in his last year of arbitration before he hits FA. The Orioles make this move to gets Kjersted into the line up and the Cubs could probably get him reasonable cheaply.
  4. Staumont and Karinchak are 2 guys I'd love to take a chance on. They both have absolutely dominating stuff when they're right. Unfortunately the strength of the Cubs seems to be more in getting guys with good control to the next tier of stuff, rather than getting guys with good stuff to the next tier of control.
  5. Starting to see a number of mocks and draft rankings moving Caleb Williams from #1 with Drake Maye and MHJ taking his spot. So much for generational prospect.
  6. Looks like a franchise tag in the making now.
  7. I'm still excited about that kind of offensive potential out of a guy who sounds like a safe bet to stick in CF. The K rate is the only thing holding him back from being amongst the elite prospects.
  8. I can't believe they didn't extend either one. If I'm a Washington fan, I am pissed right now.
  9. So if no Williams, Harbaugh isn't interested? Personally I don't really care because I'm ambivalent on Harbaugh, but I don't think I've ever heard a coach is a heavy favorite to a team only if they land a specific prospect.
  10. Hopefully he isn't from the Pat Williams school of contract demands.
  11. I'd put some substantial money on it. If Poles gave up, what is basically a 1st round pick, for half a season of a guy in which they wont make the playoffs, he'd almost definitely be fired.
  12. Please Jaylon still be on the Bears tomorrow.
  13. If it's just the 2nd, I don't particularly hate it. The contract extension is just about guaranteed and he's extremely good. Now adding him and getting rid of Jaylon Johnson wouldn't make a lot of sense, but if they keep Jaylon and pay the man, suddenly the defense is starting to look up.
  14. God he'd be pricy. I'd have to think he'd take at least a 2nd if not more.
  15. Reading through some 2024 FA predictions and here's some of the results per site 1) Bellinger 2) JD Martinez and Sonny Gray 3) Matt Chapman So basically no one has them making a big splash and has them going into 2024 being worse than they were this year unless there's a lot of trades happening.
  16. Only way I'm ok with them resigning Bellinger is if that means PCA is trade bait. Paying Bellinger the required money for him to play 1B makes no sense at all.
  17. I don't even feel particularly good about a 5 year deal. Big bodied, not particularly athletic slugging 1B with a below average hit tool, don't exactly age well. A 5 year extension would have him under contract until he was 35 and there's a good chance at least 2 of those years he's going to be a huge black hole.
  18. I thought for sure that Chargers game would quiet the Bagent is our savior crowd, but it seems like it's going even stronger now. I'm completely baffled. In the name of change people seem to be willing to take anyone other than Fields no matter how terrible they are.
  19. Watch, this is where they trade Jaylon Johnson and give his money to the perpetually injured Chase Young after they trade for him.
  20. Great so they'll have even more cap space they wont use again in the offseason and for the third season in a row the team will somehow be worse despite having a ridiculous amount of resources to vastly improve it.
  21. Of course. Then let me take this scenario even further. Assuming the Bears finish with like the 2nd and 5 pick. I take MHJ at 2, whichever of Fashanu/Alt are there at 5 then I take that newly acquired 2nd and trade up to grab one of Penix or McCarthy.
  22. I still think PG is a massive glaring hole for Illinois that is going to hold them back.
  23. Another game with no positives to speak of.
  24. Make that a 57.2 QB rating against a team that gives up 310 yards a game through the air. Meanwhile KC opponents average 176.1 which is the 2nd fewest in the league.
  25. Still running the ball. This should be an immediately fireable offense.
