  1. So it looks like the DNA sample does not match Terrance Shannon. https://armchairillini.com/new-evidence-in-illinois-basketball-stars-case/
  2. Jed's failure to address the bullpen should be a fireable offense.
  3. This is totally going to be one of those scenarios where they win the game scoring multiple runs on no hits isn't it?
  4. I know fantasy football doesn't mean much in regards to the actual game, but man ESPN really doesn't think much of Chicago's offense for fantasy purposes. D'andre Swift comes in at 25th amongst RBs(highest rank 20/lowest rank 33) DJ Moore comes in at 15th amongst WRs (10/21) Keenan Allen comes in at 32nd (27/40) Rome Odunze comes in at 38th (25/52) Cole Kmet comes in at 15th for TE (13/18) Geald Everett comes in at 29th (26/42) Caleb Williams comes in at 13th for QBs (11/21)
  5. He's going to be at least solid. I do expect a ton of fumbles in year 1 and a decent amount of picks though. Whether or not Caleb is going to go from merely average to elite is if he learns to take what's available and learns that hero ball does not work in the NFL. There's nothing wrong with checking down.
  6. I'm kind of baffled by the media's hate on Chicago's 4th round pick. I get it that a 4th round pick on a punter is not conventional, but there's several mitigating factors. #1, the depth in this draft was supposedly quite bad after the first 2 to 3 rounds. #2, we're talking about a guy who was a historically good punter. So I really have no issues with Poles choosing a guy who may be top 5 at his position from day 1 versus another position where you're probably getting a rotational piece.
  7. That's kind of the read I got when he talked about the pick. About whether or not they were drafting bpa or for need and he mentioned that a DE got taken right before them and they took BPA.
  8. I mean there's still some decent guys available in FA, so I'm not horribly worried.
  9. Hmm, doesn't sound like a guy who is going to see a lot of snaps this year, but might have impact later.
  10. Ugh Bralen Trice 1 pick before the Bears, damn.
  11. Yeah, it's probably bpa between C/DL/EDGE/S
  12. Zach Frazier off the board at #51. This doesn't bode well for Van Pran being there at #76.
  13. T'vondre Sweat went far earlier than I expected. Jackson Powers-Johnson was like 5 to 10 picks away from sliding to a spot where the Bears should have been all in on trading up for me. Oakland snagged Nubin who was super unlikely to make it to #76, but I would have loved.
  14. Guys I'd love if they were able to had at #76 DT T'Vondre Sweat C Sedrick Van Pran Edge Bralen Trice
  15. This is why you absolutely keep him on this roster despite Odunze. If he can teach Odunze how to run routes like that, Odunze becomes a true monster.
  16. Sox were winning 2-0 through 5 innings and ended up losing 6-3 taking their record to 3-22.
  17. Sounds like MHJ is locked in at #4 unless someone trades up to take him before that.
  18. What do we know about Sam Armstrong? He was a 13th rounder in last year's draft and was pretty uninspiring in limited innings last year, but has been impressive so far. The only thing I've seen is that he sits 93-94 with his fastball. The scouting details seem to be far and few on him.
  19. Exactly this, unless it's Turner.
  20. as of right now Byron Murphy +100 Rome Odunze +350 Jared Verse +1000 are the 3 with the best odds
  21. I haven't given up hope just yet. Last year he started horribly and then in the week or two before he got sent down he was making lots of loud contact that kept finding defenders. Hopefully he starts showing that hard contact again pretty soon.
  22. The fact that many think he has maxed out his frame is concerning, but he's supposed to be an explosive freak athlete for the position.
  23. It's hilarious how quickly things have changed. He goes from having about the most disastrous start possible to all of a sudden being a 21 year in AA, who plays a premium position and is posting a 146 wRC+ which would warrant top 30 prospect consideration if he finished the season with that line.
  24. Agreed. However, Mervis is also 26 and, while I'd still like to give him another 100 PAs before making a decision, 106 PAs of 32 wRC+ is really bad for a guy who only brings value via his bat. Even if he doesn't start getting hits, he needs to start making better contact for there to be any reasonable hope of him ever being more than a AAAA guy.
