  1. As long as they don't Greg Louganis themself on the edge.
  2. FA isn't over and all the usual caveats, but I really do have severe doubts that Hoyer is ever going to be the guy to take this team from decent/pretty good to a team that is ever going to challenge for the best record in the NL, not unless he manages to put together a historically great farm. He just completely lacks any sense of urgency or aggressiveness. He's far too content with letting the chips fall as they may and picking up the value signings.
  3. I assume you mean Fields for #36, because the rest of that is pretty feasible.
  4. Barring a major trade, it couldn't be salvaged. Could they sneak into the playoffs because of being in the 2nd worst division in baseball? Sure, but I think this team is maybe as good as last year, certainly no better as things stand and there's going to be a lot of pressure on a lot of unknown commodities in Busch/PCA/Imanga.
  5. I'd love that and with that #36, assuming the Bears take Nabers/Odunze at 9, you grab one of Kamren Kinchens, Tyler Nubin, Chop Robinson or Jackson Powers-Johnson. That would have me super hyped to start this draft.
  6. Yup, a lot of new names shooting up the boards. For many months it's been which of Fashanu/Alt will be the first OL to go, now it might be neither. I've seen mocks with Taliese Fuaga going before both.
  7. I'm seeing Nabors and Odunze gone by #9 in more and more mocks. If that happens I guess that would leave them with the options of 1) Bowers 2) Fashanu/Alt 3) Turner/Latu 4) Trade back and honestly unless they're grabbing Bowers, I probably trade back to like #15. You could still get a good OL there like Latham/Fashanu/Mims. There's also a decent chance one of Verse/Latu/Turner are there. The problem is that there isn't a WR that's worth reaching for at this point. Brian Thomas is more an early 20s picks in my eyes.
  8. He's #2 on my center list. Jackson Powers-Johnson is definitely the guy to get, but you're going to have to be comfortable drafting him in the middle of the 2nd which is quite high for a center.
  9. Let's assume it was consensual. He is still a man who willingly struck a woman and choked her into unconsciousness. No normal human being does this whether they're asked to or not. That's also ignoring that he has a long history of being hated in the clubhouse dating all the way back to his time in the minors.
  10. Mean while BJ Murray's 128 wRC+ at age 24 in AA is worthy of starting at 3B for the big league team, am I right?
  11. He put up a 124 wRC+ at A+ in his season where he spent most of it as a 20 year old. He didn't destroy the league or anything, but there's nothing wrong with that line for a guy who also plays good defense. It's far from "can't hit".
  12. Oh look, Keith Law is doubling down on a prospect(Caissie) despite him being a unanimous top 100 and mostly top 60 prospect in the game outside of him. I'm shocked, shocked I tell you.
  13. I don't buy for a minute that he wouldn't come to Chicago if drafted. With that said, I do strongly believe that Washington is going to do just about everything in their power to try and move up to #1 and bring Caleb home. In fact, I'd guess there have already been some pretty in depth discussions about it already. If no trade is made, I can't wait to hear what the asking price from the Bears was, because it better be big. 2,36 and 40 isn't enough.
  14. To finish around 10th in the conference and get knocked out in the play in game? Yes, absolutely.
  15. Yes, because as we know, Bobby Witt was the only one that Jed possibly could have thrown money at. There weren't and still currently aren't a multitude of FAs who are/were available.
  16. Maybe it's prospect fatigue, but it's going to take a lot for me to move off #1 even if it's just to #2. The more I see, the more I think the gap between Williams and Maye is not the toss up I thought it was just a couple months ago and actually might be somewhat substantial. I know this is ridiculous by the trade values sheet, but I'm seriously asking for #2, #36, 2025 2nd and McLaurin and I debate if the 2025 2nd shouldn't be a 1st.
  17. I really hate the Dodgers.
  18. Just over 2 weeks until spring training games start and almost half the FA top 10 remain unsigned.
  19. Not sure what has happened to the 49er's defense, but if it doesn't get fixed, KC wins yet again.
  20. Based on post Counsell expectations, I don't know how anyone could vote it as anything but disappointing, Bellinger or not. If they miss on Bellinger/Chapman we then enter disaster territory.
  21. DL Hall has stuff, but doesn't stay healthy. I'd wager heavy money he's a reliever. Ortiz is a good defensive SS, but I'm not overly enthused with the bat. He's a safe floor, decent upside guy. Frankly I can't believe they couldn't get a better lead piece.
  22. I made my affinity for Harvey well known a dozen or so pages back. That would give the Cubs an absolutely fierce 7,8,9.
  23. Like a moth to the flame, any mention of Fields or Mervis will summon Kyle without fail.
