  1. Thomas is the only other WR I think you could possibly justify at 9, otherwise they need to be trading back if they want someone else.
  2. 3 games watched this spring, 3 shutouts. Hmm.....
  3. Ok seriously Cubs, could I see at least 1 run before opening day?
  4. 21 innings and I've still yet to see the Cubs score a run
  5. Down to 5 draft picks in 2024. It's a near lock they're trading either 1 or 9 now. I really hope Bates is not their answer at center.
  6. Will I finally get to see the Cubs score a run this spring training?
  7. The dream of Jackson Powers-Johnson seems to be dead, as most mocks don't even have him getting out of the 1st round now.
  8. A win against Purdue in a few days would take off a lot of the Big10 tournament pressure and pretty much lock them into a top 4 seed. They'd have to pretty much run the table, but there's still an outside shot at a #1.
  9. So Chapman supposedly turned down what, 5/100 from Toronto? Now he will enter 2025 FA, assuming he plays well enough to opt out, as a guy who will turn 32 a month into the regular season. I'd be surprised if there's a 4/80 deal waiting for him. You could justify the Bellinger deal making sense for both parties, this Champman deal was just Boras completely losing his gamble.
  10. Williams/Maye or don't bother is my stance on this draft.
  11. The exciting part is that they can use the injury excuse for the 3rd or 4th offseason in a row and then bring the same people back expecting different results.
  12. Back to back shutouts. On the plus side, I'm back to work tomorrow.
  13. I can't pay attention to the Cubs because of work the first 2 games because I'm at work and they win both averaging 8 runs a game. I have what is likely my last back to back days off until May, so I can actually watch and pay attention to them, and they go 13 innings scoreless, so far.
  14. Its more or less been my opinion all winter. If they let him continue to get torched by lefties all spring training then they may as well dfa him because his value is completely gone.
  15. At this point, if another team wants to give up something of value, I'm all for it. With the new reliever rules a few years ago, you simply can't be completely useless against hitters on one side of the plate, even if you dominate the other.
  16. Wesneski is getting rocked. I hope they aren't depending on him for much.
  17. This was not the game to watch. I'm not sure there's any positives to take from this one.
  18. Yeah, I should have been more specific. The tools are all there to be good, the throws just start going everywhere though.
  19. Mervis still swinging over the top of a lot of pitches
  20. With the usual spring training caveat, this is one sloppy game the Cubs are playing.
  21. The glove isn't the issue, it's the arm
  22. This ump's zone is tiny. Assad getting squeezed hard.
  23. I'm not super knowledgeable about pitch mechanics , but I refuse to believe that Vazquez's arm stays attached if he throws 200 innings with the way his arm finishes.
  24. I'm enjoying all the hot takes about how Boras took the Cubs to the cleaners on this contract.
  25. Cubs not exactly flashing the leather here early
