    Jesus, even Bagent only gets 1 series? This is the single most pointless game. This only thing this accomplishes is a chance to get people to take unnecessary hits and injuries.

    Well that drive was tremendously familiar. Get stuffed on a 3rd and 1 run, false start going for it on 4th and 1 so they have to punt.

    #45 might not have a job by 10PM tonight. That was awful.

    All of our one year wonders. My favorite was Rick Wilkins. Guy comes out of nowhere in 1993 to post a 144 wRC+ and 6.7 fWAR season as a catcher. He would only top an 87 wRC+ once after that(97).

    I mean he has a .470 SLG since that 7 game disaster start to the season. That .470 would put him 4th in the Southern league amongst guys with at least 100 ABs. That's slightly ahead of Shaw and Carson Williams.

    Really hoping PCA can keep it going. A lot of hard hit balls recently and he looks so much better than he did early this year. That game in like May where he saw 9 pitches for 3 strikeouts was absolutely brutal.

    Not surprising given the person who texted it to me, and since I don't even have a Twitter account, I'm oblivious to all of that.

    I believe someone already mentioned this, but Mervis/Canario are the kind of guys that get dealt in the offseason. No contender is immediately putting them into the line up and no seller is giving the Cubs anything that makes sense to immediately deal them. You just hope in the offseason you can use them as a 3rd piece in a bigger deal.

    Damn, Gray's ERA has really jumped since I last saw it. The peripherals were still pretty strong though. Gray's last 5 starts 28.1IP 39H 21ER 5BB 35K 6.67 ERA 3.62 FIP 2.49 xFIP .425 babip 22.7 HR/FB%

    I was going to say I can't imagine the A's sweeping them, but the A's have apparently been super hot. They're 10-5 over their last 15 games.

    Let the pixie dust begin. McGreevy a guy who was thought highly of when drafted but has been down right not very good in AAA and FG has as a 35+, of course made his major league debut last night with a 7IP 5H 1ER 1BB 3K performance and newly acquired league journeyman Tommy Pham is 4/6 with 3R and 6 RBI in his first two games including a grand slam in his first AB. This is the same STL team that has the worst run differential in the division(-35) despite winning their last two games by 8-1 and 10-1 scores. Yet they are 4 over .500.

    Yeah, no player is going to potentially damage their season numbers and therefore their future earning potential just to help out another team.

    More revenue streams that will surely be put into the payroll, just like the renovation of the neighborhood, the addition of the sports betting and getting their own channel.

    Morel hit another HR today. It means nothing in the long run, but it certainly is funny.

    Nice to see that he only gave up the 1 hit while limiting walks, so the stuff is still there and he's not just trying to groove it over.

    Benintendi's contract is actually surprisingly gross and I have no idea how he got it in the first place. The bad part is if the Cubs took his contract on, they would almost certainly give him ABs and not just immediately DFA him which is the right move for a guy who has put up -1.7 fWAR this year. He's still owed 16.5M in '25, 16.5M in '26 and 14.5M in '27

    I still think if you can add Crochet and not lose any of Horton/Shaw/Ballesteros you pull the trigger, maybe even with Ballesteros. I'm sure you could get something done between Caissie/Alcantara/Rojas/Triantos. Thankfully the WSox want bats and the Cubs have those in the minors. Steele/Shota/Crochet is about a legit a top 3 as any team in the league has. That leaves you with tons of money to address C/RF, though there's really no one in FA at C to throw big money at.
