  1. I don't advocate it as I'm more in the wait and see or even leaning towards selling, but, for fun, if I were to try and buy I'd probably do something like this Bregman+Caratini for Alcantara+Mervis+Arias= Caratini isn't a star, but he's a massive upgrade over what the Cubs have behind the plate this year. Bregman isn't hitting yet, but the defense still provides a lot of value and his babip suggests that the offensive numbers are going to improve. Hunter Harvey for Triantos+Canario
  2. It feels like Shaw is a week or two from Iowa.
  3. I guess the internet can stop panicking now
  4. Is using prospect resources on this team even a wise use of assets at this point? Personally, I'm leaning towards no.
  5. No one they get from the Mets is turning this around. They'd need to pull off 2 or 3 fairly big moves.

Exactly, for example, Moises Ballesteros and his .782 OPS is the 7th highest OPS in the league right now. Matt Shaw's .752 OPS puts him in 13th.
  7. I'd take Caratini if Houston continues to underperform.
  8. Yeah, it looks bad. They wont have the payroll flexibility to add tier 1 guys and thus far the prospects have been pretty damn mediocre.
  9. Because he didn't have the guts to choose a direction, they now find themselves stuck in mediocrity with not a lot of realistic ways to move move forward.
  10. A week or two from being sellers and not a lot of pieces on short deals worth moving. Good times.
  11. This pen has to be on or near record pace for blowing wins.
  12. I do remember reading that the talent drops off a cliff after like #20.

Value is value at this point. I'd rather the guy who can't hit and provides value elsewhere than the guy who isn't hitting and provides much less value elsewhere.
  14. Yeah, Jeremiah Estrada and his 15.43 K/9, .55 ERA, 1.23 FIP and Bryan Hudson with his .59 ERA and 2.08 FIP surely wouldn't have helped the Cubs.
  15. I'm late to the game this year in studying up on this year's prospects. Who should I be falling in love with who has that elite hit tool?
  16. 2 more weeks of this and they're going to find themselves on the selling end of things.
  17. Pretty exciting, especially when the farm has more major league regular types than guys who actually have star potential.
  18. People are really running wild with these early reports of Caleb struggling in OTAs.
  19. And that's with both the #1 and #3 best ERA starters. Once Assad and Shota start trending back to their peripherals, this is going to be an absolute dumpster fire.
  20. Looks like the Steelers have chosen to just undo all the changes the Bears made to Fields, starting with his footwork.
  21. This offense has become hilariously bad. Jed can't afford to wait until the trade deadline.
  22. Davis just casually sitting at a 178 wRC+ now with a nearly .700 SLG.
  23. Even in the Bryant/Baez/Soler farm era I can't remember a tear like Brennan is on.
