  1. Another lead off single that never made it to 2B.
  2. Well that was about as bad an at bat as possible from Dansby.
  3. How does Gibson keeping getting these edges when he has shown no ability to locate in the zone?
  4. Well, at least we don't have to worry about losing a close one now.
  5. A lead off single and they can't even get him to 2B.
  6. On the plus side of things, Busch is putting up a 157 wRC+ in June. On the not as bright side of things, he's doing it on the back of a .500 babip and showing very little pop.
  7. Shannon absolutely should sue. He was a projected 1st rounder with guaranteed money and now he's a projected 2nd rounder which would mean no guaranteed contract.
  8. It's honestly pretty simple. If Jed believes the Cubs are in on this year, he needs to get a pen arm and do it now. He cannot wait until it's closer to the deadline, at that point far too much damage will be done. Before this weekend ends, someone like Tanner Scott needs to be wearing the Cub uniform. If not, then don't bother investing anything into this dead ass team.
  9. What a shock. How this went to trial with basically no evidence other than her testimony and no witnesses or physical evidence is beyond me.
  10. I don't see a generic NFL offseason thread so I guess this place is as good as any. The Falcons were handed their punishment for the Kirk Cousins tampering incident and they didn't escape entirely unharmed, but it was pretty damn close. They'll lose a 5th round pick.
  11. With almost a month left to go, I've kind of settled in on Tibbs/Cam Smith as the guys I'm expecting. Part of me wants to take a swing at Honeycutt, but I can't recall the Cubs ever significantly improving the contact issues of guys who were drafted with significant ones.
  12. For sure. He was 1 bad season from being a washout in most eyes. I'm just not ready to jump on the hype that surrounded him when he was initially signed just yet. With that said, I think it could be argued that he belongs back in the top 10 at this point and certainly in the top 15.
  13. That he's being carried by a .404 babip worries me, but then again babips always run really high in the minors and he has greatly increased his BB% while greatly decreasing his K%. So while there is significant change there, I'm not ready to proclaim that he's completely regained all his lost shine just yet.
  14. If Lowe walks off Neris again I might fall over laughing
  15. Periodic reminder that the Cubs missed the playoffs because the pen completely imploded and Jed's answer was Hector Neris. It's remarkably terrible.
  16. $10M closer Neris with the 4.57 FIP and 4.82 xFIP after tonight's
  17. I've mentioned it several times, but maybe pulling Taillon after 6 with 91 pitches, when you know you have a horsefeathers bullpen, wasn't the move.
  18. You're far more confident of that than I am.
  19. Hahaha horsefeathers this team
  20. This bullpen is really really good
  21. I feel like PCA is perpetually working from behind in the count.
  22. Babip gods were kind on a ball that was smoked
