  1. I [expletive] hate everything about you missouri.
  2. Brandon Paul has no idea what his strengths are.
  3. With very little of the actual talent? I think he'll be great, but yes, he's nowhere near where Dee was as a freshman offensively. Big difference between an all american and a guy ranked around the 70s-90s.
  4. I see a lot of Dee Brown in Tracy from an attitude standpoint. He's fun to watch.
  5. I'm all for supporting cancer research, but I hate our blue uniforms. Weber is also under .500 all time wearing blue.
  6. I [expletive] hate what our program has become. I can barely even watch games anymore.
  7. Arizona is historically the second best program on the West Coast, and has arguably been THE Pac 10 program since Wooden's run. They have 5 Final Fours since 1988, and have only missed the tournament once since 1985. OSU has/had incredible amounts of money to pour into their basketball program which poured over from football and can never be matched at Illinois. This money flows from football and goes towards a new arena, better coaches, bigger recruiting budgets, and in turn has led to tremendous on court success similar to other super-schools Florida and Texas.
  8. Agreed. Just leave your offense on the field if that's what you want to do.
  9. I hate Michigan. That is all.
  10. Was he? I remember the Chicago papers touting that he was, but all the articles I read about it always never had a source from Illinois talking about it. I could be wrong, but both the IB and scout claim that he has no college degree and thus cannot work for the UI. You may be right about the Chicago papers vs. the University source. I just remember Chicago being all pissy when Jerrance got the job.
  11. Smith was up for Jerrance's spot. Then CPL coaches claimed that it was a slap in Chicago's face that he or someone like Ty Slaughter didn't get the job.
  12. i bet he would. there aren't going to be any openings at any top programs anytime soon and xavier is not a destination job. illinois is a big ten program that gets plenty of publicity, regularly gets top 100 recruits of the 4-star variety, and is getting a renovation job on the assembly hall. furthermore, mike thomas is from cincinnati and i'm sure knows mack well. the last 2 coaches left for illinois-type programs, also. as far as the alumni thing, i don't see that as that big of a factor when we're talking xavier. it didn't stop lickliter (butler being a very comparable school to xavier) from going to iowa, and iowa ain't illinois. illinois is still seen as a very good job, no matter how much iowa folks would like to deny it. OSU and Arizona are not Illinois type programs. If you believe that, you're living in la la land. I certainly think Illinois has to look at making a change, but there needs to be some level of confidence we don't end up with Bruce Weber 2.0 as a result of that change. A bad hire here sets the program back to Iowa levels. If Weber retains his job, we need a staff shakeup. Usher Wayne into retirement but keep him on the payroll in some sort of basketball ops role, and then hire Robert Smith our of Simeon to fill the void.
  13. I'm not sure Illinois is even that good of a job right now. At this point I don't think we can attract anyone better than Weber. He's got a .700 win percentage and took Illinois the furthest it had ever been in the tournament. He's performed to the historical norm at Illinois. If we do fire him, there better be a damn good replacement waiting in the wings.
  14. Weber proved he could win with Deron Williams and 4 other guys who played in the NBA. Newsflash anyone can win with that group. Anyone. He's a bafoon and clearly in over his head. You still haven't answered my question. First people criticized his recruiting, now he magically can't coach, despite the fact he took SIU to a Sweet Sixteen. While I think the situation is in need of some serious thought and evaluation, they played like crap today. That's why they lost. Firing Weber would certainly bring the fan base back into balance, but the question of a replacement looms even larger.
  15. Why are you blaming Weber for the fact that our best player failed to show up today? Did Weber also throw all the terrible passes, or did Weber tell the refs to let our players get grabbed and held on every possession? Is Weber responsible for the lack of effort? Did Weber allow Ryan Smith to jack up wide open threes and allow Purdue to shoot over fifty percent? Please tell me specifically what Weber did to lose this game. We have 6 freshman on our roster. Our only senior is a scrub. Our only sophomore is waiting for his meal ticket. Weber has proved he can win with talent, but it was mature talent. This was our second true road game of the season with an incredibly inexperienced team. DJ and Brandon are our only players who played any meaningful minutes up until this season. These loses are going to happen when you're growing. Enjoy this team for what it is. The coaching situation will sort itself out in the offseason, but if you are going to blame every piss poor play we saw today on Bruce, then you are placing blame in the wrong place.
  16. Iowa looks more athletic than Wisconsin. Getting to the rim at will. That's doesn't bode well for Wisconsin.
  17. Basabe, you idiot. He may gift the Badgers this game because of that T.
  18. Can't believe I'm about to say this, but Go Iowa. I know its early but Wisconsin pretty much pisses away the B1G title if they lose this at home.
  19. But when? He made so many bad passes out of the corner tonight. Talent is there, decision making is not. Also, Sam Maniscalco has to be one of the slowest guards I have EVER seen play. He runs like an oompa loompa. http://girlsweat.files.wordpress.com/2011/07/oompaloompa1.png In his defense, and I hate him, he's pretty injured. I'm not too fond of Sam either, but he does some good things for the team. Sam has a way of getting the gritty baskets, but he is too slow on defense. I thought Tracy gave us a clear boost off the bench, but until he improves his decision making, we will need to depend on Sam. I was troubled by the amount of turnovers off of passes last night. It has been great to see Joey B's emergence the last couple games, he brings a dynamic athleticism we have been missing. Paul needs to be banned from shooting jumpers in practice. Meyers is still very very raw, unfortunately, I don't think it will keep him in school past this season. When the money is there, you get it.
  20. Paul needs to quit jacking threes and turning the ball over. Let's feed Meyers.
  21. given illinois' bizarre ability to lose horrendous 36-33 games to psu, maybe only having psu on the schedule once is a good thing. I agree. Penn State is the thorn in Illinois' side.
  22. Well looks like my prediction that Crandall would be this years malcontent was spot on. Let's wait for all the facts to come out before we rush to judgment. I think there must be more than just playing time at play here.
  23. Well, I hate when the Packers lose, but now they know they need to get better. Protecting Rodgers will be key moving forward, I wouldn't mind sitting him against Detroit. Hopefully Bulaga isn't injured too badly, but I've got to think signing Mark Tauscher off the street becomes a possibility now. We really need to get Clifton back. Jermichael Finley should be kicked in the nuts for every pass he drops. At least the pressure is off the team now, no excuses moving forward. Super Bowl or bust.
  24. I'd make a hard push for Anthony Grant. I realize doing so costs us Jerrance, but I'd still do it. I don't want Mike Thomas anywhere near a basketball hire. Weber's not getting fired this year, its just not happening. However, I think Illinois is better than any Big Ten job except Indiana or MSU, especially with the renovated arena on the way. Every year he remains is another year we crawl further into mediocrity. I don't like Weber any more than either of you, however, we don't have the resources to can him. That's two major buy outs in one year that a first year AD would need the donors to buck up for. Mike Thomas' last basketball hire was Mick Cronin. I have no faith in him after he botched the football hiring. Was anyone else really bothered that he was at the basketball game instead of the volleyball match today?
