  1. Kams is a wonderful place where even an engineer can get laid. This is one of the only things I have ever agreed with that the DI has written.
  2. Glad he won't be in the division, and I am especially happy he won't be in the NL. This guy is a heck of a player.
  3. I was at the Illinois exhibition against Lewis yesterday, and the team looks improved from last year. It was nice to see that the motion was alive and well again. It's amazing how bad Pruitt and Randle clogged up the offense the last two seasons. I came away very impressed by Mike Davis, he was all over the floor making plays, had three or four huge blocks, and was hit a few jumpers. Tisdale still looks very weak in the post, and he is really starting to remind me of another Nick Smith. Hopefully he can continue to pile on the pounds because he is having trouble playing with his back to the basket. We are also still having trouble stopping quick guards off of the bounce, I think this will change when Legion begins to play. He has the athleticism to stop pretty much anyone that he wants.
  4. We are not very consistant this year. One week we look awesome. The next we blow. Two Words: Ronald Zook I sitll like the level of talent he is bringing in. Let him learn to coach on the fly. Cant really argue with you on that, but you can't play down to your competition every week. The Illinois talent level is so much higher than Wisconsin right now. The defense sucks, special teams suck, playcalling sucks. At some point you have to say enough is enough. the atheltic ability and physiques on the illinois players make the wisco players look like d-3 jv, it's ridiculous that they aren't destroying them. we need a better coach, but more likely, we just need zook to surround himself with better defensive coaches. agreed the co-coordinators has to go. and our offensice playcalling is way too predictable

  7. Hold them here. Pray we rediscover that Jason Ford is good, and juice can throw the deep ball
  8. Ron Zook and the rest of the Illini coaching staff must have eaten [expletive] Sandwiches for breakfast this morning. This is awful
  9. Heading out to the game now. I predict a 7-3 victory, with Ramirez and Lee both homering. Harden goes 6, and strikes out 8.
  10. What he said. An argument can be made for team MVP, but again it loses.
  11. i am going to predict that michigan state does what they always do, start out good, lose a game to a good team that they should've won, then go in the toilet. this would be an interesting debate ... which school should get the copyright on starting out great losing a game they should win and then tanking; Purdue or MSU. purdue starts out great because they play lousy teams out of conference and always seem to get one or two big ten cream puffs early on too. so they're like 5-0 or 5-1 and people think they're good, then they start playing teams that are more talented than them - usually michigan, ohio state, penn state, wisconsin - and start losing. for quite a while, purdue is pretty much what penn state has been the last couple of years - they win the games they're supposed to win, and they lose the ones they're supposed to lose. except for that one game that Penn State should have lost but a betting ref decided he needed to let them win ... no I will never let this die I watched the game and said at the time one of the ref's must have bet on the game. Seriously how do you run the clock when someone ctahces the ball and walks out of bounds with no one within 10 yards of him. I think you guys are missing the core fact here. They are Big Ten refs and they suck. Every school has suffered their wrath at least once. The Big Ten needs to implement a system to better monitor the refs because officiating in both major sports has been a travesty for the last decade at least.
  12. Calling for Rodgers head is stupid. He is essentially a rookie QB, and isn't going to be Brett Favre right away. In fact at his ceiling he isn't going to be anywhere close to Brett Favre. Packers fanse understand this and are willing to give him a chance. He is an unproven commidity and the Packers don't know what they have in him, and until they do the fanbase and franchise will remain commited. If Bears fans were calling for the head of Rodgers in the exact same situation in Chicago, and wanted Matt Flynn to start over him I think I would laugh myself to death.
  13. Honestly, I think that the presense of Moss in an offense makes the job so much easier for the QB. He has been involved in the top two offenses in history, and is arguably the biggest gamechanger of this era when he wants to play. I also think that the improved o-line in NE would be a benefit to Rex. However he is no Tom Brady, and I think you are looking at a 6-9 ppg dropoff at the very least from last year. I also think Rex is good for one more turnover per game.
  14. Brady at best would give the Bears another 4-7 points again in my opinion. Brady is a great QB, but even great QB's need great weapons around them, and that is what made him so deadly. In New England he has plenty of weapons to spread the field and take advantage of opposing defenses, and the only reason he is able to do this is because the defense has to pay so much attention to Moss that it opens up other receivers like Welker. Unless Devin Hester turns into a Randy Moss like threat and the Offensive line can give Brady time than he won't have a huge impact. However with the Bears defense I would think an additional 4-7 points per game would lead to around a two game improvement, and maybe move them into contention for a wild card.
  15. I agree, I think Kosuke is about to bust out of it. He has been much improved at the plate the last few days, and has been making some hard line drive outs instead of looking totally lost.
  16. I don't like the use for this reason. Now on every close call down the line the entire play will take place and then the ump will go use the video screen to determine fair or foul. If an umpire calls a ball close to the chalk foul their will be an argument from the hitting team almost everytime. More often than not umps will make the right call in this situation because they are in closer proximity to the ball, than on a HR call. This often isnt the case on home run balls (unless it is the playoffs or ASG) and controversial home run calls don't happen near as much as a double down the line. This could really slow the game down IMO.
  17. Peavy has allowed 3 earned runs or less in his last 4 starts including a game at Colorado. Unfortunatly the Padres offense gave him no support and they lost 3 of those 4. I think that the Brewers will be able to scrape together a few runs and win again, especially with Sheets on the mound. Hopefully someone on the Padres can realize that hitting is a part of baseball, and avoid the sweep.
  18. I thought the exact same thing when I read the paper this morning. Edmonds is a born winner (as he showed us with the Cards), and is going to help the team stay focused and win down the stretch. What a great presense to have in the clubhouse this time of year.
  19. I believe today is what the kiddies refer to as "pwning" someone
  20. No need to retaliate today IMO, the bats have already done plenty of talking and you don't want your hitters getting thrown at all day tomorrow.
  21. Soriano. The team is completely different with him in the lineup and our record with vs. without him reflects that. If he was healthy all year I think we would have at least 3-6 more victories than we have now. Having his bat back in the lineup has made such a huge difference the past few weeks. However, I am not sure you can give it to a guy who has been injured as much as he has. My second choice is Dempster, he's come out of no where and is having a Cy Young caliber season.
  22. Are we brawling? That one was right at his helmet on gameday, and now we've got the on field delay message
  23. I have no idea what Lou is doing with the pen today. At least he hasnt burned Gaudin, Wood and Marmol yet. We should be ok for tonight.
  24. This is dumb if he could have gotten through six with less than four runs allowed I would be happy at this point. Seems like an early hook to me.
