  1. Love the pic of Z and Fontenot. Looks like they will keep up the pregame "handshake" this year.
  2. Well IU sure put the fear of God into me today. They played with great intensity in the second half. The triangle 2 really confused us, and IU was able to make a nice run. My Mike Davis boner grew another inch today.
  3. At least you realize that was garbage
  4. Who the hell plays a Triangle and 2 in the Big Ten. Nice tactic bringing out the garbage D, its working.
  5. I dont know how you call a technical when Calvin took an elbow from the IU player he bumped into.
  6. What a clinic in the first half. 14 assists on 17 field goals. I love this ball movement.
  7. Love the stache. Well done Big Z. Can't wait to get the season started again.
  8. Yeah you are right. But, let's say we landed Sherron Collins. How many minutes is Trent playing for us? In the late 90s early 2000's we were landing Sheron Collins. Now we aren't. Now Trent's a starter. Sherron Collins was a 5 star player in the CPL. When did Illinois ever land that type of recruit outside of the Henson era? The teams of the early millennium were stacked with players from downstate, and the talent downstate at the time was unbelievable. Chicago recruiting is a completely different beast, and Illinois was incredibly lucky to have that sort of talent south of I-80 during that era. Dee wasn't CPL but he was a 5 star from Chicago. Also if you think that Self would have missed on Collins if he was still at the UofI then your nuts. Even then there are a lot of guys that we could have got that would be playing over Trent that were not 5 star cpl guys. Pargo, Dentmon, etc. We also could have got Evan Turner. My point sitll is Meacham isn't the type of talent that has been starting for Illinois during Self or Kruger's eras. Barring the one year that Kruger had Frankie Williams ruled inelligible Self may not have missed, but I am not convinced it would have been completely legal either.

  10. D-Mac will be back. If he can't handle the pressure after seeing it for two years then there are serious problems. Losing Chester will hurt in the ball security department will hurt, however I think the talent coming in will make up for it. My main concern for next year is not having a senior leader with an established role on the team besides Keller.
  11. To be fair, you can be kind of a tool when it comes to the Illini. to put it mildly That said, I'm not about to take any crap from a Mizzou fan. haha, you got me. but seriously, mizzou fans talking crap are like washington general fans talking crap. Haha thanks for the laugh. Anyways I would wager to guess that the only reason the Big 12 is ahead of Big Ten in those rankings in due to the fact that IU is so piss poor this year. Also if you look at the conference RPI ratings the Big Ten is number two behind only the ACC. http://www.warrennolan.com/basketball/2009/conferencerpi
  12. Here's a video of us beating you in case you missed it. Link Does any known video exist of you beating us? Ha ha, we're ranked higher than you. Ha ha you play in the Big 12. Ha ha Illinois has beaten you 9 straight years. Ha ha you have never been to a Final Four. Ha ha your last conference title was taken away by the NCAA.
  13. Here's a video of us beating you in case you missed it. Link Does any known video exist of you beating us? Lol let them have their day. Great effort by the Tigers last night, even better that it was against Self. Add to the win the fact that it will help Illinois' RPI and I am quite excited for Mizzou. Congrats on getting back to the tourney barring a huge collapse.
  14. Got ejected from the Illinois game today. Decided to run in front of the flags at the 16 minute timeout in the second half. Probably not my best decision, but didn't get arrested. That said it feels great to get the victory today, especially with Purdue's lame student section in attendence. Hopefully we can pull some sort of garbage Big Ten title, and hopefully I don't lose my season tickets. It's all in the hands of Saint Guenther now though
  15. Dennis Felton is out at Georgia. SEC is going to have some interesting openings this year. http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5infDWrP4anLI53gy6uNDsY0FnQwgD960SVHG0
  16. UK isn't KU. I expect more than what you listed in this past decade, there should be no reason why UK is not a legit national contender. Looking at some of the mediocre programs (GT, Ohio St. Illinois, UF 3 times, etc) that have been to the title game is terribly frustrating. Yeah sorry about the mix up there. I fixed it. Anyways honest question because I don't know, how are the practice facilities at UK? And other than tradition what do you see as the draw that will bring highly talented recruits on a national level to UK?
  17. Stay out of the streets of Lexington if that day ever comes. Yeah I wouldn't want to have the misfortune of stepping out infront of BG's car
  18. Or perhaps Indiana. Either way I can't see drunken Billy G winning a national title at UK
  19. I understand UK fans frustrations with Tubby given he only made 1 FF in 9 years as coach, however the man put UK in the Sweet Sixteen six times, the Elite Eight four times, and won the SEC and SEC tournament five times each, made the NCAA tournament every year, and never lost in the first round. Any fanbase that complains about that kind of success is simply delusional. Gone are the days when Rupp and Sutton could go out a buy whatever player they wanted and put them in a cushy athletes dorm that was more like a Hilton. I'm curious what exactly do UK fans expect both in recruiting and performance, because I'm almost positive that BG isn't the man to bring you there.
  20. I'm really excited about the Packers getting Capers. He is a proven D-Coordinator, and will be able to improve the defense greatly. I'm interested to see if he takes GB into a full blown 34 or not. My guess is that the Packers will run a hybrid next year because I don't believe the talent is there at linebacker to go 34 full time. Should be an interesting offseason to see what Ted Thompson does to get Capers his players.
  21. Not a fan of this at all. As long as it takes a home game away from NU and not Illinois, and as long as it is only a one year deal I can live with it.
  22. Boilers really need this game against Wisconsin today. Hope they start winning some games in the Big Ten to help Illinois out. Boiler up for the next two hours.
  23. Agreed. At least when it comes to being cool. And just being all around sick. I still can't get over this. Sorry Iowa fans. I was too young when the 89 team was around, but Frank is the best PG I have seen at Illinois in terms of playmaking ability and taking over a game. Too bad he could never put it together in the NBA.
  24. I'm really sad that Alford left Iowa, that guy was always great for a laugh. Especially when he tried to claim an "effective Big Ten Championship" after winning the tournament in BTT 06. That said I am not too disappointed with Illinois' loss today. I didn't think they would win going into the game, and our bigs were extremely sluggish in the second half on defensive rotation. I was not too thrilled that UM knocked down all those threes either but that is just basketball. We are much improved but still have a long way to go.
  25. Let the call go, if Hummel actually showed up and Purdue actually converted at the line they would have won. If Painter didn't have Weber coach circles around him they would have won the game. There is a lot more to this than one call by the ref. Both teams played well, this is just the crazy type of stuff you need to expect in the Big Ten. I hate when people bitch about the ref's. Good teams overcome poor officiating, especially at home in the Big Ten.
