Ya, they'll get the USC treatment. However, if Cal finally gets brought into all of this, he's cooked. Kelvin Sampson got a show cause ruling for making phone calls. What does Cal get, a lifetime ban. Stuff like this just proves the stupidity of the NBA age limit. These kids are just mercenaries brought in for a year, who care little about their education. I don't think the NCAA can mandate a kid stay in school against his will if he accepts a scholarship, but something needs to be done

There's a long proud history of cheating at Kentucky. If this was happening at say Minnesota, another school with a proud cheating history, we'd be looking at the death penalty. Instead, I think a three year post season ban and loss in scholarships is the max that will come of this.

I'm really surprised they allowed him to publish the 200k figure. Rumors are one thing, but putting it in a major newspaper is quite another. Yep, I've never seen that one before. Think what you might of the Sun-Times (utter tripe), but it's still a big name paper outright accusing a school of cheating (and with a specific number!) Is it possible the UK deck of cards collapses on Cal before FIU's does on Isiah? Even if they prove it, I don't see the spineless NCAA wont dropping the hammer on one of the bluebloods. Cal will leave for the NBA, rumors will follow, and it will all quietly be done away with.

I'm not really sold on Oglesby, and it really wouldn't matter, and we'd probably wind up with somebody just as good, and yeah it'd be because he grew up loving Iowa, and this is a very long, awful sentence, but I don't want him to wind up at Iowa. I'm pretty sure it's us or you guys though. I'm not going to lose sleep over Oglesby. Great shooter, but that skill can be found in a number of different players. Get Randle and Oglesby becomes a nice afterthought. It's more fun to hate Iowa when they are relevant so if he doesn't end up at Illinois then I guess I'm not opposed to him taking the offer from the home state school.

I only trust Jay Glazer, and he thinks Favre is coming back. So I'm going with that for now.

She's one of the least likable people in the world. So was Favre. Then he became a Viking. So now he's not. She still is. I don't really care about the off-field stuff unless they're committing heinous crimes. A married athlete sexting? Oh my God, what has this world come to?!!?!?! Next you're going to tell me they cheat on their wives too. Actually, Favre becoming a Viking makes him a lot less likable. The Vikings are still a bunch of chokers with or without him. Just accept it and move on.

The University of Illinois in Chicago isn't going to hire Jerrance unless the University of Illinois is ok with it. blocking howard from getting a head coaching job would be a huge mistake. I can understand the University not wanting Howard to leave to be an assistant somewhere else, but blocking the guys shot at a chance to run his own program borders on insane. He's in demand, and this is a good thing. He branches out and develops, and then comes home when Bruce leaves. If he leaves I think Harrington fills the assistant role, with Chester being hired as video coordinator / whatever Harrington's title is now.

I could care less, though I would prefer just to call it the SWC again. I'm sure the non-Texas schools would love that it's better than the proposed "Texas 10" How about "1 Big Bully, 9 Little Nerds"

He'd be what they need to solve their recruiting problems, but I don't know if he's ready from a x and o's perspective yet. With that said people have noticed what he's done, and he won't be at Illinois much longer. If he's going to leave I would not be opposed to UIC because it would allow him to continue to build strong recruiting ties to the Chicago area, which he could then bring back to UIUC when Bruce retires or is fired.

This really sucks. I liked Coble, he was fun to watch and seemed like a genuinely good guy.

There isn't one iota of evidence and you have not brought any forward. I could be wrong but I don't think Weber has committed a single recruiting violation since coming to Illinois. I'm by no means saying 100% that there isn't anything going on at Illinois, I'm just saying if there is they are doing a damn good job of covering it up because there has not even been a whisper.

I'd love to get him. With the group we have we need a knock down shooter. I think we are in a tricky spot. I'd much rather have Randle but I dont think he is going to pull the trigger until fall. Taking Oglesby early would end our chance. I'll put my trust in Bruce on this one, but watching Randle at PU would be hard for me to swallow.

Illinois cannot afford to get caught cheating in a major way. We are known for the slush fund, and the NCAA dropped the hammer on us with little evidence in the 90's because of it. Thus, Guenther runs a clean ship. UK, can you name one recent recruit where you think there was foul play?
