  1. http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080915&content_id=3480423&vkey=news_mil&fext=.jsp&c_id=mil Probably not the correct location for the topic though.
  2. I am normally hesitant to give much props to predictions, but very well done, good sir. Well done indeed. Take a look at the time he edited it.
  3. Wow. This sucks. PPPPPLEASE get back to winning and not this sucking we have been doing. The Brewers are likely winning tonight with CC on the hill, so we need to do work kids. And after my Accounting Information Systems class this morning, if we start bad I might have alcohol poisoning by the 3rd inning.

  5. That's what I am saying. Carlos should be the closer next season.
  6. I'll take a win tonight, Cubs. Loshe will get rocked and Demp will pitch like he has most of the season.
  7. If this should be in Cubs discussion, plz move. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2008/09/molonys-latest.html I read this today and thought two things: 1.) If we resign Wood, it better be for MR. 2.) Why sign K-Rod for 5yr/$75M if we have this guy you might have heard of.... his name is Carlos Marmol. Argueably the best MR pitcher in baseball. I am sure there is a really good stat to back that up, but I just don't have time for that.
  8. I was 5-1 @ Wrigley this year, and needless to say Sunday wasn't fun. Please win Cobs!
  9. How much longer till the Cubs thread?
  10. The question is who to root for? Does our natural hatred for the Packers go over the fact that Minnesota is the true threat in the division? Im not saying that the Bears are going to be contenders this season, but I dont remember entering the 2006-2007 season with particularly high hopes. I don't know who to root for. I would have said yesterday at this time it doesn't matter because the Bears are going to win 4-6 games. But now, I would say that I am not rooting for anyone. Both present a real threat in the division, whether we contend or not.
  11. I would be willing to trade/DFA/release/give a year off/whatever every player on the team (except DeRo) for a Cubs WS title this year.
  12. I'll be at the game on the 7th. Sitting 5 rows behind the Cubs dugout. Where are you at?
  13. So, when Lou decided Bob Howry was a good idea last night, I decided that a half and half Captain Morgan and Coke was a good idea. Then, when we went down 7-3, I decided a second drink was a good idea. Then, 4 solo HR's made me want a celebratory drink. Well, after the 2nd inning of Kerry Wood, I needed a forth. O, and I had to get up at 6:30. Please don't make me an alcoholic, Cobs!!! My prediction: Cubs win because Dempster throws good, but we get bad news about Z.
  14. Kosuke hits for the cycle. Top that. We could do this all day :-k Bob Howry DOESN'T give up a HR
  15. Does North Dakota even have a college? They have a pretty darn good hockey team. Notre Dame made it to the NCAA championship game this year. Oh, and i hope my school comes to mind when i see its initials. :D What a post. What a post. "I hope my rich boy, smartie school comes to mind when I see the initials." Oh, and ND stands for Notre Dame
  16. Wow, losing really sucks! Please win Cubs!!
  17. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2008/08/fuentes-taveras.html We aren't going to get either of them, but I thought I would post it on here, too.
  18. Make that a double no... http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2008/08/fuentes-taveras.html
  19. Really?? NFL Replay is horrible. The worst part about the MLB replay plan is that they're copying the NFL style of having the ump on the field review his own call. That is probably not the worst part about MLB replay that I can see at this point, since it hasn't been used. I would put starting in the middle of the season and limiting the amount of oversight allowed (i.e. not using it at plays at home/first) ahead of that. And I wasn't trying to say the NFL has a good replay system, I was just saying that it's 2008 at mid-year, and baseball in putting in replay. The NFL instituted replay on a limited basis (sort of the same thing we are doing here) on March 11, 1986, during an off season. 12 years later, the game that calls itself America's past time is figuring out that it might have a use for technological advances that are occurring. That's all I am pointing out.
  20. They are guna screw this up. Baseball is so far behind football in terms of adapting the rules of the game to meet the changing technologies. It would be just like Grandpa Bud to drop the ball on the instant replay, causing the Cubs to lose a game in the WS or something. Or maybe the screw up would be in our favor and that would be how we win, and that becomes the story. Idk, I don't like the 'in the middle of the season' part of this.
