  1. The Blues are now 1 loss from elimination, this is great, yes it sucks the Hawks lost to them, but now they will keep Hitchcock with the false hope that they are close(assuming the Sharks finish them off). Someone made this point in the Hawks off season thread and was spot on. Do they stick with Jay Gallon or go back to Elliot for game 6?
  2. Go Sharks tonight, The Blues have not won a game 5 since 2012(last W was against the Sharks) As for Stamkos, I think he either winds up in Toronto or Detroit
  3. I thought the Cubs had one 2-3 years ago in Pittsburgh? Could be wrong though. Edited 9-11-15 at Philadelphia, last at home 2006 http://www.bleedcubbieblue.com/2015/9/11/9257883/chicago-cubs-philadelphia-phillies-doubleheader-preview-friday
  4. Looks like the weather outlook seems to be improving slightly for tonight. Seems like the worst of it might go south
  5. I don't even know how to wrap my head around how good this team is. Someone's got to be the best team in the league every year, but I can't remember a team being so much better than everyone else by so much. They could spot the other team 3.5 and still be over .500. And that's with two starters injured, a few guys in AAA who should probably see the majors later this year, and the pitching staff being managed to go easy on them. Reminds me of little league, where there was one team stacked with all the good players
  6. Yeah, it's a weird choice, but a great song. I think its because La Stella is from New Jersey.
  7. The Cubs have been a bit unlucky, their Pythag record is 22-4. Luck tends to even out, so it is more like 138-24.
  8. They were back with him for the end. They like to go around the park picking up aluminum cans during the middle innings =D>
  9. Also reading White Sox Interactive is fun. Before the Pittsburgh series, the Cubs didn't play anybody good, then it was that Pittsburgh isn't going to be good this year. I wonder what they will say after this series if the Cubs were to take 3 of 4 or all 4.
  10. It looks that way, I think the Blues will end up playing for the Cup. San Jose or Nashville? Nah Given the Blues' desire to take stupid penalties, The Sha arks power play could destroy them. Good point, and I hope that happens
  11. I haven't been paying attention, but what is going with Matt Abbatacola?
  12. I bet a Sox fan friend $100 that the Cubs would win 90 games this year, and for every win above 90, $5 gets tacked on(or below). I think I will begin collecting by Labor Day at the latest.
  13. It looks that way, I think the Blues will end up playing for the Cup. San Jose or Nashville? Nah
  14. Not that it matters much but the Cubs are now 4-1 to win the WS in Vegas while the next closest team in baseball is the Nationals at 10-1. Cubs to at least advance to the WS is at 2-1.(This is from memory last night at home, as I can't look at gambling sites at work)
  15. Actually EST is the same as CDT so you were right
  16. We have to find something to bitch about when we win every game by like 7 runs. The team will win 110 games this year but Rondon will only have 20 saves
  17. I like it because if its anything like 2008, the Cubs still get 80% of the coverage and we get to hear Sox fans complain about being irrelevant still. New thread up complaining about the Score mainly but also ABC 7 http://www.whitesoxinteractive.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=144721
  18. They will, 27th in offense. Their pitching has been great though, lets see how long that will last. Although I would love a Cubs WS victory over the Sox this year.
  19. the league's reaction to hossa styled contracts was to install some sort of penalty for guys that do retire, so it doesn't help at all if he retires early. That's what I figured
