  1. Do most players and umpires act like good sports and go along with your routines? Where do you go to hibernate for the winter? Finally, which famous bear would you be more interested in meeting, Yogi or Smokey?
  2. I read the first part and got really excited. Bastard. Yeah, because when Chicago and Cincinnati news breaks, the first place you'll hear it is on the radio in State College, PA. By the way, that same radio station is reporting that the peanut butter in the aforementioned sandwich was not crunchy-style, and the Jelly is generic store-brand rather than Smuckers. Since this information came to light, the Reds have since backed out of the deal. The reason the Reds backed out is that they couldn't agree on the brand of peanut butter. The Reds insisted on Peter Pan, but the Cubs were only willing to use Jif. :D
  3. Stop telling posters to stop suggesting trades. People are entitled to suggest trades regardless of how likely they are.
  4. During all your time as a pitching coach in the Cubs' organization, what pitcher do you think has shown the most improvement under your tutelege?
  5. Are you employed directly by the Diamond Jaxx, or by the Cubs? In other words, if the Cubs were to move their AA team elsewhere and somebody else's AA team relocated to West Tenn, would you still be in West Tenn or the new location of the Cubs' AA team?
  6. HUH? What does this have to do with fantasy baseball? :?
  7. Even if the trade doesn't go down it doesn't necessarily mean the poster made it up. We know from the Bruce Levine fiasco earlier this year that trades can be reported by reputable sources and still not get finalized. Perhaps one of the teams backs out at the last minute, or perhaps the poster's source got bad information. One false report (if in fact it does turn out to be false) shouldn't be grounds for banning somebody. If he repeatedly makes false reports (as opposed to one time) that would be different.
  8. Coincidentally they're also 46-45 in games managed by Dusty Baker and 0-0 in games managed by anybody else. :D
  9. As much as I hate to say it, way to go Cardinals. I'm conceding the division and looking toward the Wild Card, so having Houston lose this weekend is in our best interests.
  10. Do not insult other posters by accusing them of having blinders on just because they don't share your opinion. Other posters are entitled to their opinions and you are entitled to yours, but you are NOT entitled to ridicule others just because they don't share your opinion.
  11. Nice to know we have a gold medal winning Olympic swimmer in the organization.
  12. I edited your post and bolded it for emphasis. I actually posted the list too, but you beat me to it by one minute, so I deleted my post.
  13. To make the analogy complete they would be swept by a Wild Card team. This is where the Cubs come in. :D
  14. What a bunch of losers. No excuse for scoring a measly five runs against the pathetic Pirates.
  15. Sox; at least it would be a Chicago championship (I used to live in the Chicago area).
  16. I voted no, with the caveat that a September callup (after the Djaxx win the Southern League playoffs) is OK.
  17. That's what I read too. They were going to Mesa to work on hitting while Iowa was off (due to the hurricane followed by the All-Star break), but were scheduled to report to Iowa when the season resumes tomorrow.
  18. I didn't get the impression they were actually going to play for Mesa. My understanding is that they are just in Mesa to work on hitting until the Iowa season resumes after the All-Star break.
  19. This is so weird. I was just thinking about wherethis guy might be the other day. I see our former "future lefty starter" is now reduced to A-ball...ouch. Smyth is one of the minor league players suspended earlier in the season for testing positive for a banned substance.
  20. The All-Star break seems to be a good time to see where everybody stands. If everybody who's participating checks their results and posts them here we can see how we all compare with each other. My team (Mendoza Line Mob) isn't doing to well (or, rather, they ARE doing too well :D ). I have 205 points, ranking me #1279 of 1859.
  21. I mentioned this to DJAXX by PM, but I plan to contribute $50 via PayPal. I'm not much of a collector, and the Cubs-related items I am willing to part with I already pledged to Serena as prizes for the predictions contest.
  22. Iowa hasn't played since the demotions. The weekend series in New Orleans was postponed due to Dennis the Menace, and the next few days are off due to the All-Star break (the AAA All-Star Game is Wednesday, I believe). Both Patterson and Dubois are going to spend a few days in Mesa working on hitting, then report to Iowa when the season resumes.
