    Another big performance for me from Maddux. It at least temporarily puts me ahead in my matchup.

    Roseboro, that's who I was thinking of. I remember it was the Dodgers' catcher, but I forgot his name. I believe what happened was the previous pitch came close to hitting Marichal in the head, and Juan thought Roseboro was calling for a brushback pitch.

    OK, folks, the insulting of other posters WILL stop. There's been too much of that going on here lately. As far as an appropriate penalty, I think a possible precedent is back in the 1960s when Giants pitcher Juan Marichal intentionally and repeatedly bashed the opposing catcher on the head with his bat. I don't know how long his suspension was, but that may be a good starting point to look at here. And I think the umpire should sue Young and be awarded a ton of money.

    The keeper league I'm in uses CBS Sportsline. It isn't free (our league costs $10 per team per year).

    I'd let it go unless you suspect collusion is involved. In a league I'm in there are trades that at face value appear one-sided, but make more sense when you consider the relative strengths and weaknesses of the teams involved. I traded Vidro for Gagne and Rusch. On the face of it I think it would look like a bad trade for me. However, given that I already have Baez on my team, it means that I'm assured of having the Dodgers' closer for the rest of the year, along with Dempster, so I'm quite solid in the saves category. And I still have Walker and Weeks at 2B, so I could afford to trade Vidro. And I'm 19-1 in two weeks since making that trade, so obviously it didn't hurt me. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

    Tomorrow's forecast for Jackson, according to the Weather Channel: High 77, low 58, 0% chance of rain. Looks like it will be a go.

    I'm in a keeper league with 10 keepers. We also have a 10-man minor league roster.

    Yes she is. A couple of years ago (I believe the year when she was on the Olympic team) they kept showing shots of her during Cubs-Dbacks telecasts.

    He wouldn't be getting a paid vacation. Undoubtedly, the suspension would be without pay. And whether they choose to do so or not, the Devil Rays organization could penalize him beyond what baseball does.

    Unfortunately. :( It wasn't a total loss, though, as I have his opponent on my team in another league (just picked him up as a free agent to replace Burnett).

    But it's the complaining that gets annoying, not the constant complaining about complaining and accusations about those who are complaining. We should do the baptist thing and form a committee to investigate the committee in charge of the committee who's repsonsible for over-seeing the complaint committee. And the Committee on Committees would have to establish this committee's duties, and the Nominating Committee would appoint members. :D

    Tampa Bay hasn't had much luck with top-rated prospects, first Josh Hamilton and now Young. Not an impressive record for sports in Durham, NC lately, first with the Duke lacrosse scandal and now the Young incident. Surprisingly, there was absolutely no mention of this on my local news tonight.
