  1. They should have an alternate closer every year anyway. There have been several recent years where the intended closer was injured to start the year; that's not just an issue with Wood.
  2. This is the Cubs we're talking about. What's OBP? :D
  3. There was a time where the Reds' home opener was THE game on Opening Day. No games in Japan or Mexico back then, just the Reds opening on Monday and everybody else starting on Tuesday.
  4. I was satisfied with that for last year. After three losing seasons in a row, just making the playoffs last year was an accomplishment (especially with rton starting at QB most of the year). This year that won't be good enough. I'll be disappointed with anything short of making the NFC championship game at a minimum.
  5. I got the impression that he'll start one more, but tomorrow is the Astros' last home game of the season and they wanted him to start the home finale. Their last six games are all on the road.
  6. How about the Ribbees? :D Welcome to the league.
  7. Sit Williams. Although Williams had a good game last week, Foster is still the starter. If Foster does well early in the game, Williams may not play that much. Green and Jones may feast off of each other's defense. If, at the last minute, it is reported that Green won't play, that changes everything.
  8. The question mark has now magically appeared. :D
  9. Kansas City has regained first place with a one game lead over Tampa Bay. The Cubs are now 4.5 out, and Pittsburgh is 6.5 out. I think it's down to Tampa Bay vs. Kansas City for the top two picks and the Cubs vs. Pittsburgh for 3rd and 4th (which should still give the Cubs a good player).
  10. Interesting that the Cubs have two complete games all year, and both by a #5/AAAA pitcher. :D (Even though last night's game was rain-shortened, I think Hill would still be credited with a complete game since he was the only Cubs' pitcher.)
  11. OK, the rather heated tangent has been split and moved to Rants. This thread can now go back to being the light-hearted fun it was intended to be.
  12. I read in my local newspaper yesterday that the Mets did, in fact, sign an agreement with New Orleans.
  13. I don't think that's what anybody is saying. They're saying that he is the better player at the present time. That's not the same as saying he's a better prospect.
  14. He won't lose if you watch tonight. He won't win either. Guaranteed. :D
  15. Wow, good point about Soriano's walks. If he keeps walking so much, he may turn Hendry off to him. That's just silly. It's called sarcasm.
  16. Same concept as rooting against the Cubs in order to improve their draft position. :D
  17. Premium Non-premium
  18. Jackson is already in Tennessee  Okay, let me put this where you can understand it. Jackson (West TN Djaxx) moves to TN, (Tennessee Smokies). TN (Tennessee Smokies) moves to, let's say, Jackson (West TN Djaxx). I just thought that people would understand what I was talking about without having to spell out every little detail. Sorry. He knew exactly what you were talking about; that's what his lol smiley was indicating.
  19. The Pirates' pitcher's last name was spelled Veale. I remember at the time they had Bob Veale and Bob Moose as pitchers at the same time.
  20. 17th for me. I'm ahead of you here just like I will be in the NSBB football league. :D You did have a two and a half year head start. Dat be true.
  21. 17th for me. I'm ahead of you here just like I will be in the NSBB football league. :D
  22. What a "riot." :D
  23. Memberlist --> Select Sort Method: Total Posts --> Order: Descending Same thing...it starts at 999 and goes down based on the number it starts with rather than total post count. I get the same thing. My guess is that it may be related to the search function being disabled. It's as though the number of posts is being interpreted as text rather than numeric, and it's ordered based on the first digit of the number of posts regardless of how many total digits there are. Go into the normal user interface and not the Premium interface. Then do what TT said to do. Sure enough, it does. It seems backwards that something works correctly in regular but not Premium.
