  1. Agreed. Addai is becoming more involved in the Colts' running game. He may not officially be the starter yet, but it seems to me like he's really the regular.Talk about a slight understatement. :D
  2. I knew the Jan. 8 deadline was eliminated; I'm not sure about offering arbitration. It does make sense, though, in light of the signings that have already taken place without waiting until after Dec. 7 to see if their former clubs offer them arbitration.
  3. Yes, but if Rose is eligible Joe Jackson needs to be as well.
  4. No, Leon is the father. Leron Lee (former major leaguer) is the uncle.
  5. Those are two points you can never get back. :D
  6. Or if they're signed before the deadline for offering arbitration, in which case it is assumed that their former team would have offered arbitration.
  7. It somewhat sticks in my mind that Hamilton may have been another, although I'm not sure on that one. I have no idea on the fourth, but I'm fairly sure it's NOT Johnson or Richard.
  8. it is Muskat though That's exactly what Craig and kctigers said. I'm confused. Craig and kc said the exact opposite at least as it pertains to the sandwich pick. that quip says the Cubs lose the sandwich pick, they both said the Cubs keep it. I think it means that Washington gains a sandwich pick, not that the Cubs lose one (although the wording isn't that clear). Sandwich picks are additional picks that are inserted between rounds, not existing picks taken from a team.
  9. I know Reed was one of the four, and I think Conley was another. I don't know who the other two are.
  10. Trachsel Specifically he was good in even-numbered years (1994, 1996, and 1998) and el stinko in odd-numbered years (1995, 1997, and 1999). Kyle Farnsworth had the same pattern his last few years with the Cubs but the other way around, good in odd-numbered years and bad in even.
  11. There's still work to be done, but I like what I've seen so far. I too am starting to think that he was held back by MacPhail in the past. Maybe MacPhail imposed a limit on contract length and Hendry may not have had the authority to give out contracts long enough to attract top free agents. I won't be pleased if this is it for the offseason, but I'm pleased at this point.
  12. Doesn't matter. The last team he played for was the Cubs so therefore he is a returning FA. Makes sense to me. Considering how quickly after the deadline they signed him I'm sure they could have gotten it done a half day earlier if there was a reason to.
  13. That's exactly what impresses me more about Hendry so far this off-season. He's using the money to sign one impact player when in the past he would have signed two or three role players instead.
  14. Actually, one recent year it was rated THE best, not just one of the best.
  15. The opt-out clause doesn't bother me a bit. All it means is that he was effectively signed to a four-year contract with a player option for a fifth year. I think we all would have been thrilled to death if it had been worded that way; we shouldn't be bothered because it's worded differently.
  16. Agreed. Addai is becoming more involved in the Colts' running game. He may not officially be the starter yet, but it seems to me like he's really the regular. That's correct. Addai has gotten approx. 70 percent of the carries in the last 4 weeks, even though Rhodes has started each game. That's about what I was thinking. The Colts are my second favorite team (behind the Bears), and I get to watch most of their games since I have DirecTV's Sunday Ticket. The only time I miss them is if they're on the same time as the Bears (then I flip back and forth).
  17. Agreed. Addai is becoming more involved in the Colts' running game. He may not officially be the starter yet, but it seems to me like he's really the regular.
  18. There's a new sheriff in town for the NSBB group. Thanks to my 1015 points last week, compared to previous leader Seth's Midgets' 0, I have taken over the lead. Nationally I continue my rise, up to #221.
  19. The Dodgers do. :D
  20. http://img66.exs.cx/img66/9830/hell4gc.jpg
  21. I'll settle for kicking ourselves in a few years if we get to celebrate a World Championship first.
  22. Finally, a voice of reason. :D In standard Yahoo scoring, Green has been worth two points more than Dunn this season, and he's played in two fewer games than Dunn. And Dunn is facing one of the best defenses in the league. Hey Rookie - Dunn had 57 yards and Green had 29. Ray Lewis didn't play making previous D stats irrelevant. There is more to Fantasy football than stats and predictions  Some times you just got to go with your instincts. :) On the other hand, in my league, my decision to start Lundy over Dunn was right. :D Too bad the rest of my team stunk this week.
  23. That was my initial thought when I read the title of the thread. :D
  24. Gonzalez isn't an above average defender. I'm confused - this is the Red Sox Alex Gonzalez who should have won the gold glove right? And you don't think he is even above average?? Yes, the Red Sox Alex Gonzalez, formerly of the Marlins. The former Cub Alex Gonzalez retired this past season.
  25. I don't think so, simply because I don't think Hendry has two years. He needs to turn it around in one year if he wants to save his job.
