  1. The pitcher must have multiple personality disorder.
  2. They mistakenly thought it was a snaking draft like in most fantasy leagues and were trying to get an earlier pick in the even-numbered rounds. :D
  3. It was mainly cubs.com posters. I don't recall for sure whether it was 2003 or 2004, but you're probably right because by 2004 I was rarely posting there anymore.
  4. Some pictures from boysofspring.com posted today: http://www.boysofspring.com/journal/Prior.JPG Prior pitching to D-Lee http://www.boysofspring.com/journal/Prior2.JPG Prior http://www.boysofspring.com/journal/Lilly.JPG Lilly, Wood, and Z http://www.boysofspring.com/journal/Z.JPG Z the slugger http://www.boysofspring.com/journal/Guz.JPG Guzman http://www.boysofspring.com/journal/Marshall.JPG Marshall
  5. I'd forgotten that was the year you were in the league. She's not in the league anymore; she dropped out a couple of years ago. Your buddies, Greg (aka Mini) and HenDog are still in, though. :D (HenDog, however, has grown up a lot the last couple of years.)
  6. A few years ago in a Yahoo league one member had Bobby Hill autodrafted in the first round (she obviously preranked players, and she actually knew him).
  7. Whoever drafted him will win the runs batted in by gloves category every time.
  8. Smith. The Bears simply must pay him what he's worth and keep him. Losing a head coach that has turned the team around this quickly simply because they're unwilling to pay him is not an option.
  9. He should pay me a commission for mentioning it here. :D
  10. Now THIS is the site I like to see! Nice site, showing some pics, and some nice exclusive interviews. Thanks a bunch!! ::goes to view all of content::. . I actually discovered that site by accident last year. I found it by Googling Cubs Spring Training when I was looking for information before my visit. I'm especially looking forward to the DVD that he's working on and has information about on his site. So he's working on a DVD with (hopefully) ST footage in it? I'll prob get it. But it defeats the purpose. We (us cubs fans) like to see ST action as it's going on. By the time the season starts, I'm not gonna care (as much). . The DVD seems more like a history of Cubs Spring Training more than current highlights. There's a description of it here. There are a few video clips at the bottom of the page, including one of Harry Caray and one of Ryan Dempster impersonating Harry Caray.
  11. Dateline, Feb. 23, 2007 Didn't Lee break his wrist again with that, too? X-rays are pending. :D

  14. Ah, trash talking. Part of the fun of participating in fantasy sports. :D
  15. I checked it out and Mark did go yard twice in his AAA debut. I remember being at Pringles Park that night and they continued posting updates where they normally show the scores. I was thinking he hit a homer in at least one other minor league game, but I don't recall whether that was with West Tenn or Iowa.
  16. I forget which year this was, but a Tampa Bay Pro-Bowl offensive lineman (Paul Gruber, I believe) sat out an entire year after being franchised.
  17. Im not the only bears fan to question the ownership's frugal-ness. Those players have large contracts but the Bears are still 21 million under the cap. I have no problem with how much they do or dont pay players. I mean I wouldnt want the team to be in the cap hell that the titans, 49ners were or the redskins or colts are now. I just think it sucks that with how bad this team has been over the last 15 years, they finally get a solid head coach who takes them to the super bowl, and there offer is a 2 million dollars less a year than Bobby Petrino, a rookie NFL Head Coach or a couple hundred thousand dollars more than the Dolphins Defensive Coordinator. Its not like they are the Jaguars who are a small market team, and are not pulling in a lot of profit. They are near the top of the league in profits in the third largest market. Uh, the Colts are 7-8 million dollars under the cap even after franchising Freeney, and they still have some easy work that's going to get them even further under. They don't really have cap problems. I got that from John Clayton who said that the Colts are 5.9 million over. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2349505 Manning just restructured his contract, converting a roster bonus into a signing bonus to spread it out, to help with their cap. I believe this just happened yesterday.
  18. There are a lot of Spring Training pictures here (some from last year, some from this year; I'm sure more will be added). Cubsmesa is Tim Sheridan, PA announcer at Hohokam and operator of an independent web site devoted specifically to Cubs Spring Training, http://www.boysofspring.com.
  19. Go to the "view your posts" in the right upper corner. Or don't you like it up there and would rather have it on the threads? On the cubs.com thread there's a marker (I believe an exclamation point, but it's been so long since I've posted there that I'm not sure) next to any thread that you've posted in.
  20. Last year I got mine at a spring training game I attended; in previous years I've ordered it by phone. One of the issues of VineLine usually has the phone number. It would be helpful if it were available through the Cubs' web site, but it hasn't been in previous years.
  21. So you're volunteering me, huh? (j/k; I was planning to anyway.)
  22. I don't recall which specific games, but I do remember him hitting more than one homer during his time in the minors.
  23. DirecTV channel 609 But only available as part of the sports pack, not available to general subscribers.
  24. You saw Prior pitch just a few days after I did then. I saw his last AA game before being promoted (West Tenn was playing at Carolina for that game).
  25. Arbitration avoided at $12.4 million.
