  1. So you admit you're a troll.
  2. Exactly. Dusty's toy was Neifi. :D
  3. I hope Aaron refuses to congratulate Bonds or even acknowledge him breaking the record. Even better, I think it would be great if all pitchers collude and agree to intentionally walk him every time up so he doesn't ever have the chance to tie or break the record.
  4. No. The Pirates haven't played in the World Series since they won it in 1979.
  5. Isn't he slightly ahead of Greg Maddox? Who? I think he meant Garry Maddox. No, he meant Elliott. :D
  6. Illinois is toast this time around.
  7. Neifi Perez needs only 17 RBIs and 5 strikeouts to reach 500 in both categories.
  8. Broiled lobster for 80 cents. I need to change my last name so I can qualify. :D
  9. Keep in mind Lester is no longer minor league eligible, since he had 15 starts last year and 10 or more starts disqualifies a pitcher from being minor league eligible. Since I lost minor league eligibility for Angel Guzman with exactly ten starts, I'm going to be watching that like a hawk. :D
  10. Fortunately, there's this other sport called baseball starting soon to tide you over. :D
  11. But he's so big he could be separated into two players.
  12. Perhaps getting lost in the disappointment of the Bears losing last night is that they took another step forward this year. Until last year they were perennial losers for quite a few years with the exception of thw fluke 2001 season. Last year they won the division, this year they were the top team in the NFC and made the Super Bowl. There's still work to be done to win the Super Bowl, but I think the progress toward that goal made in two years is escellent. I think Lovie was touching on that point in some of his post-game comments.

    Keepers

My final move to make my roster legal was to release Barrett's sparring partner. :D I also decided to cut ties with McPherson, even though he's minor league eligible. He's expected to miss most, if not all, of 2007 with back surgery, and between Tracy and Marte I should be in good shape at third for the next few years.
  14. Come on; surely it's at least 4 trillion to 2. :D
  15. No, he's in the Super Bowl thread. There aren't separate threads for Bears fans and Colts fans. This is a Cubs board, not a Bears board. It's pretty much at least 80-85% Bears fans though... Probably pretty close to that. My main point was that non-Bears fans aren't really the same as non-Cubs fans on this board. Although definitely a minority, there are several Cub fans who post here that are also Colt fans, and they're entitled to their say in this thread just as much as Bears fans are. It's not like fans of another team trolling as we might look at it in baseball if non-Cubs fans rub things in.

  17. Don't you think wishing a serious injury for somebody is uncalled for?
  18. He was the QB coach-he's still officially listed as that, but really he's simply the top assistant to the team at this point. He also has the title of Assistant Head Coach. He served as head coach in December 2005 for the game Dungy missed because of his son's death.
  19. How about Prior? Maybe that would help him stay healthy and return to form. :D
  20. I'm disappointed that the Bears lost, but I'm glad they made the Super Bowl just two years after string of losing seasons. Since the Colts are my second favorite team I'm not as disappointed as I would be otherwise. The Bears are still a team on the rise; I think there's a good chance we'll see them again in Super Bowl XLII (with a different outcome).

    Keepers

My keepers: Webb--642.3 Wells--558.5 Ichiro--522.5 Ryan--396.9 Pierzynski--351 Iguchi--exempt Tracy--exempt Gonzalez--exempt Reyes--exempt Liriano--exempt (a head start on my DL :D ) Guzman--exempt (one less start last year and he'd still be minor league eligible; just one more reason for me to hate Dusty  ) Total points--2471.2 Note: That's a total of 11; I still need to decide on one more player to release. Minor league roster: Clement Mathis Garko Loney Marte McPherson Clevlen Durbin Owings
  22. Yeah, me either. What package is this under? I believe that's one of the channels included in the Sports Pack (includes all out-of-market regional sports channels and some others).
  23. I always thought a player had three option years. Was that a change in the new CBA?
  24. There has been a series airing the past couple of weeks called America's Games, featuring the top 20 Super Bowl teams of all time as rated by a panel of experts. #20 through #3 aired on the NFL Network, while #2 and #1 aired in CBS this afternoon. The 1985 Bears were #2 and the 1972 undefeated Dolphins #1. They're also conducting fan ranking on the NFL Network's web site, and beginning sometime next week they're re-airing the series based on the order of the fan rankings. Last time I looked the 1985 Bears were #1 in the fan rankings. DVDs of the series are available at nflshop.com at $19.99 per episode.
