  1. Bazeroski isn't even in the Hall. :D I agree on Mazeroski, though. I mentioned him specifically in my e-mail to the Hall. If Mazeroski belongs in the Hall so does Don Larsen, because they both are famous solely for one World Series moment.
  2. I sent an e-mail complaining about their obviously flawed process. I doubt they give a rat's ass what I (or any of us mere fans) think, but at least I got my :twocents: in. Unless the process is changed, Santo will get in when :pigfly: .
  3. I just received a similar e-mail about Gameday Audio. However, I had subscribed to that in the past. I didn't renew this year because I almost never used it anymore since subscribing to Extra Innings, but cancelling the Gameday Audio subscription was easy. I just had to click on the link provided, and that was it.
  4. Once all the deserving players get in they could always change the rules again to prevent that from happening.
  5. I don't think anything will change the minds of the committee as it currently stands. What needs to happen is for the Hall itself to change the makeup of the committee.
  6. There's zero justification for Buck O'Neill not being in either, but that's not the Veterans Committee's fault.
  7. Got an email addy? Not offhand, but there's probably a "contact us" link on the Hall's website.
  8. It's really more a case of NOBODY being able to get in any more than Santo specifically. Santo has at least come the closest the last two elections. As Derwood mentioned earlier, it's more the process not working than a slam at Santo specifically.
  9. Legitimate point. I changed the title of the thread to reflect the results, but I changed it back to the original to avoid being controversial.
  10. People should overwhelm the Hall with e-mails demanding a change in the process. The current process is a sham and isn't working.
  11. Screw you, Veterans Committee. The current process is a sham and MUST be ditched for an approach that will actually result in inductions.
  12. I know what he really meant. http://www.charmin.com/en_us/images/prod_charmin_pack_over.gif
  13. Didn't Bruce say his defense looked wonderful so far this spring? Let's say Cedeno struggles and Theriot can't handle SS, what options do the Cubs actually have to replace Izturis if he is hitting 220? Tomas Perez!!!!!!!!!!!! His initials aren't TP for no reason! You mean he's an Indian living in a teepee?
  14. I believe you can only have one entry per Yahoo ID, but if you have more than one e-mail address you can probably create a different Yahoo ID for each of them. There are other contests besides Yahoo; I believe ESPN, CBS Sportsline, and Sporting News have similar contests (although I don't think you can register for any of those yet), and you can always have different brackets in different contests. It says each person can have 5 brackets on yahoo. My interpretation of that was that you could participate in five leagues, not have five brackets in the same league. I could be wrong though. EDIT: If you click on the "cool new features" link from the registration page it clearly states that you can only assign one bracket to each group. So you'd need to join five groups (any combination of public and private) to have five brackets.

  16. Even though the NCAA tournament is a few weeks away, registration has started for Yahoo's Pick'em contest. I formed a group; the ID is 538 and the password is nsbb. Up to 50 people can join a group, so feel free to invite others.
  17. I agree. Can you afford to stash him for 1+ years? He isn't going to pitch at all this year. Then a rehab year... Rehab from TJS these days goes a lot faster than it once did (such as when Kerry Wood had his, for example). He may be able to do his rehab in the latter part of this season, then maybe play winter ball and be fully recovered by the beginning of next year. Don't forget, Ryan Dempster was pitching less than nine months after the surgery and back to full strength by the start of the next season.
  18. Since this is a keeper league I probably would keep Liriano (in fact, I did in a keeper league I'm in), although it would depend on how many DL spots there are since he'd require one for the entire year. Recovery from TJS is much more routine and shorter than it used to be, so I'd expect him to have a big comeback season in 2008.
  19. I voted Sunday, but Friday would also be up there. On Sundays I currently watch Deal or No Deal (when it's on that night), You're the One That I Want, Apprentice LA, and Amazing Race. On Fridays I watch 1 vs. 100, Monk (for one more week), and Close to Home. On other nights I watch Survivor, Friday Night Lights, Deal or No Deal, and Studio 60 (before it went on hiatus). I generally like older series better than current ones so I spend more time watching DVDs of older series.
  20. There's only one new Monk remaining this season (this coming Friday). I assume the next season will start in July as usual.
  21. It's on "hiatus", but speculation is they'll burn the rest off during the summer or on the internet, and that it won't return next season. But I don't know that anything is official other than the fact that Black Donnelly's is taking that time slot beginning tonight. It could also be that they'll show the remaining episodes on one of their cable channels (such as Bravo or MSNBC). They've done that with some low-rated series in the past.
  22. Dusty's available. (Oh, wait; you said you need a BETTER manager.) Dusty has won more games than me. I'm guessing he's also lost more than you have. :D

  24. I just need to get my Delorean time machine and go back and have a bidding war for him.
  25. That should probably be reversed to say "Miller and Wood" since Miller's on the left and Wood's on the right. Once again the operator of the web site I got pictures from seems to have Miller and Wood backwards. Yesterday he had a picture of Miller, but the caption said Wood.
