  1. They don't need to officially announce the move until right before game time. Maybe they're waiting to see if the Izturis trade (assuming Levine is right) can be completed in time for today's game and if not somebody (my guess is still Gallagher) gets sent down.
  2. Miller and Novoa are already on the 60-day DL, and I don't see Guzman being moved to the 60-day because he's started a rehabilitation assignment. My guess, barring an as-yet unannounced trade, would be Blanco to the 60-day.
  3. Copycat! Great minds think alike (notice there were actually several copycats). :D
  4. I'm just speculating here, but maybe the Cubs decided that, with Lee serving his suspension, another position player is more important than a 12th pitcher for the next four games. Gallagher pitched 4 innings yesterday and therefore probably wouldn't be available for several days anyway, so maybe he was sent back down. It's also possible Fox is only up for today; Dempster is scheduled to be activated tomorrow, so Fox may go back down to make room for him.
  5. You were beat to it by less than a minute.
  6. Apparently you didn't get a chance to watch yesterday's game; Gallagher was anything but hidden on the bench then. :D
  7. Um, we're not going with 11 pitchers. Since Petrick was called up earlier this week there have been 12 pitchers (counting Eyre).
  8. And also Dempster, I believe.
  9. Give me a winner and I'll happily live with his antics.
  10. Has anybody checked lately and noticed who's number 1 among major league players in terms of hghest ESPN? None other than one Jason Kendall.
  11. What? I haven't heard, but I'll guess that Ervin got pulled from the rotation. I'm fine with that. He sucks. And I thought he was going to put it all together this year. I'm down to 4 pitchers. Dammit. Not just pulled from the rotation; he was optioned to the minor leagues.
  12. Roy Oswalt pitched in relief Tuesday night and Tim is currently credited for 1.5 points. Correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that points scored in relief by normal starters when in the fantasy lineup as a starter don't count. Sorry, Tim; I need a win and will do anything legitimate to try to get it. :D
  13. Not necessarily. If Kendall struggles the rest of the season and somebody else steps up then Kendall may not be re-signed even with Hendry in charge. Hill has suddenly caught fire since the trade was announced. I don't expect that to continue, but IF it does that may influence the decision. He's had a couple good games. That's not likely to last. Agreed, which I acknowledged in the last sentence of my post.
  14. puff, puff, pass -- don't confuse 1 good game with doing well Actually it's two good games. Don't forget his dinger Monday night.
  15. Who needs any more reason than that for him to become the new owner? :D
  16. To paraphrase a saying, it's a Cub fan's perogative to change his/her mind. :D Seriously, I'd still prefer Soto as backup catcher (I think the Cubs need to find out whether he can be a major league catcher for the future). It has been a good couple of games for Hill, though.
  17. another brilliant hendry blunder - getting a terrible player to fix a non-hole on the roster. but hey, he traded for Ramirez and Lee! And he got rid of Hundley.
  18. This horse has been beaten to death and beyond. The reason is that following a discussion on a topic is easier if the discussion is in a single thread rather than fragments spread out across multiple threads.
  19. You mean like today? :D
  20. And I think the fact she's mentioned at least twice that Bruce can back her up adds credibility as well. It's not her fault if nobody actually takes her up on it and asks Bruce.
  21. How was I getting carried away? I said he had a very nice outing; I wasn't annointing him the new closer or anything like that. And you yourself said it was a very nice outing, so if I was getting carried away so were you since we both said the same thing.
  22. Congrats to Sean on his first major league save today. Four innings, one meaningless run. Very nice outing, giving Zambrano a breather yet saving the rest of the bullpen.
  23. And a home run Monday after the trade was announced but before Kendall reported. There's more than one way Kendall can help the Cubs. :D
  24. Good thing for Tim I have Gallagher on my minor league roster. His outing today would have looked nice on my team.
